Ezhou Museum

The museum is a local comprehensive museum set up by the government. It not only undertakes the important tasks of cultural relics investigation and archaeological excavation in coordination with the city's construction projects, but also undertakes the historical missions of cultural relics collection and preservation, display and publicity, scientific research and development and utilization, as well as the management of the city's cultural relics protection units. It is not only a characteristic window of the city's socialist spiritual civilization construction, but also a cultural heritage museum As an organic part of the party's socialist scientific and cultural undertakings, it is also an important force to implement the "cultural relics protection law" and related laws. Over the past 40 years, under the correct leadership of the previous Party committees, governments and cultural authorities, and with the concern and support of the provincial cultural relics department, the real estate of the museum has been increasing, the staff has been growing, and the cultural heritage industry has been developing. Through the efforts of the vast number of cultural workers, 54 ancient cultural sites, 8 ancient buildings, 6 stone carvings, 7 revolutionary sites, 5 modern memorial buildings, and many ancient tombs and tomb areas have been found in the city. Among them, 108 have been approved and announced as cultural relics protection units by the State Council, provincial government and municipal government, including 1 national cultural relics protection unit, 10 provincial cultural relics protection units and 97 municipal cultural relics protection units. More influential cultural relics protection units are: yting Ming cliff stone carvings, Peng Chufan martyrs' tombs, Wu Wangcheng ruins, Guanyin Pavilion, He Long military headquarters site, Yu Liang Lou, Wen Xing tower, Town God's Temple and so on. More than 1000 ancient tombs have been excavated. There are more than 20000 cultural relics in the collection. Among them, there are 56 first-class cultural relics, 277 second-class cultural relics and 2331 third-class cultural relics. The collection features ancient bronze mirrors and celadon wares of the Six Dynasties. The number and grade of cultural relics in the collection rank in the forefront of all the cities and prefectures, which makes Ezhou enjoy the reputation of "a city of collecting cultural relics". The excavation of more than 500 ancient bronze mirrors at home and abroad makes Ezhou "the hometown of bronze mirrors".

Ezhou Museum

The predecessor of the Ezhou museum was founded in 1953 in the west mountain cultural relics exhibition room. In July 1959, the city of Town God's Temple was built to build the Museum of geographical records in the city of Town God's Temple. In 1961, the museum was merged with the library into the Cultural Museum (that is, three museums in one). In March 1978, the museum was separated from the cultural center, and the Museum of the museum was built.

Development history

The Research Institute of Ezhou museum is specialized in the research of ancient bronze mold casting technology, using ancient mold casting technology to cast bronze mirrors, bronze swords, etc. It has become the bronze model casting experimental base of Beijing University of science and technology, Institute of natural science history of Chinese Academy of Sciences, scientific and technological archaeology research office of China University of science and technology, and China Coin Society.

1. On December 8, 1996, Mr. Kong Xiangxing, Zhu Dazhen, Shao Wenliang, Luo Zongzhen of Nanjing Museum of Chinese history and academician Ke Jun of Beijing University of science and technology came to our museum to inspect the casting method of bronze model. Accompanied by Vice Mayor Zhu Shuxia and the leaders of the Municipal Bureau of culture, the unveiling ceremony was held for the five signs of the bronze model casting experimental base hanging at the gate of our museum.

2. In November 2001, Ezhou Museum sent 10 people to Zhuozhou film and television city to cooperate with CCTV science and education center to shoot the large-scale documentary "resurrected army". The craftsmen in the play, including smelting, molding, smelting, casting, and machining after casting, were all performed by Ezhou museum staff. The play has six episodes.

3. In September 2002, with the municipal construction, Ezhou Museum undertook the production and installation of large copper plates with copper inscriptions on the phoenix platform. The contents of the inscriptions are related to the history of Ezhou from ancient times to modern times, including politics, economy and culture. After more than three months of hard work, Ezhou Museum finished and installed the copper bars on the phoenix platform.

4. On December 18, 2004, the "Research on the simulation experiment of Chinese ancient model casting process" jointly carried out by China Coin Museum, Ezhou Museum, Beijing University of science and technology, China University of science and technology, Hubei Coin Museum, Ezhou Coin Society and Hubei Institute of cultural relics and Archaeology passed the ministerial appraisal of the people's Bank of China. The appraisal meeting was organized by the science and Technology Department of the people's Bank of China and presided over by China Banknote Printing and mint Corporation.

The Museum covers an area of 23.69 mu, with a total fixed assets of 3.3 million yuan. At present, there are 62 registered cadres and workers (including 11 retirees), including 9 senior professional and technical personnel, 24 intermediate professional and technical personnel, 14 junior professional and technical personnel, 24 party members, and 27 people with college degree or above.

Main functions

Organization setup

Basic Display

Ezhou characteristic cultural relics exhibition Ezhou is the hometown of ancient bronze mirrors with rich cultural relics resources. There are more than 70000 articles in the library. The exhibition includes nearly 200 pieces of Warring States bronzes, ancient bronze mirrors and Celadon of the Six Dynasties.

More than 80 pieces of cultural relics from five periods, including the pre Qin period, the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Three Kingdoms, the two Jin Dynasties, the southern and Northern Dynasties, the Sui, Tang, song and Yuan Dynasties, the Ming, Qing and the Republic of China, are exhibited in the exhibition.

Zhang Yuzhao (1823-1894) is a calligrapher, educator and writer in the late Qing Dynasty. "Zhang Yuzhao's life and calligraphy art exhibition" is divided into four parts, which mainly introduces Zhang Yuzhao's calligraphy art life, his friendship with Japanese disciples, and the inheritance and development of Zhang's calligraphy in Japan.

Collection

At present, the museum has a collection of more than 70000 cultural relics (including 67 national first-class cultural relics, 622 second-class cultural relics and 3838 third-class cultural relics), among which ancient bronze mirrors and celadon ware of the Six Dynasties are the features. Ezhou Museum adopts the ancient bronze casting technology to study the ancient bronze casting technology, and carries out simulation experiments on ancient bronze weapons, ritual vessels, bronze mirror coins, etc. The number and grade of cultural relics and 122 cultural relic protection units in the forefront of all provinces and cities make Ezhou enjoy the reputation of "cultural relic city" in the whole province.
