Yiyang Olympic Park is a large-scale comprehensive sports facility built by Yiyang Municipal Government in accordance with the overall urban planning to host the 9th National Games of Hunan Province in 2002. It is also a sub venue of the 5th National Urban games in 2003 and a national badminton training base. Yiyang Olympic Park is located in Chaoyang Development Zone in the southeast of Yiyang central city. The site is more than 700 meters long from east to west and 360 meters wide from north to south, with a total land area of 500 mu. The main building is a three Hall stadium, which can accommodate 30000 people, 5000 people, 800 people's swimming pool and 20 badminton training venues Training hall, open-air swimming pool, diving pool and the corresponding distribution square, parking lot, supporting service facilities and outdoor fitness activities. The total construction area is 48000 square meters, and the total construction investment is 162 million yuan.

About the park
Yiyang Olympic Park was built in August 2002 in accordance with the city master plan, taking the opportunity of hosting the 9th National Games in Hunan Province in 2002 and the national five City Games in 2003. Covering an area of 500 mu, the overall land is rectangular, 700 meters long from east to west and 360 meters wide from north to south. It is adjacent to Zishanhu International Golf Course and Yiyang Municipal Party committee and government office new area. The East, West, South and north sides are close to the city trunk road with entrances and exits. It is a sports theme park with natural and artificial blend, modern architecture and hilly landscape organic coordination, known as "the light of silver city".
The park has a number of distribution squares, landscape sketches, lighting waterscape, outdoor sports fitness equipment, leisure and recreation facilities, with the functions of tourism, leisure and recreation, sports fitness, exhibition performance and sports events. Since its establishment, more than ten sports events or large-scale performances have been held every year. Some major national and international sports events, such as China Football Association Cup, China Super women's Football League, China Men's Football League, 2002-2008 National Women's Volleyball League Bayi women's volleyball home, 2005-2007 World Cup Badminton, National Women's badminton league, have settled here. The stadium has a silver gray parabolic roof in the shape of flying butterfly, with a circular plane and shape of 79.2 meters in diameter, forming a modern cultural landscape with the overall natural environment of the park. With a construction area of 10300 square meters, the infield is a double-layer sports floor, equipped with a central air conditioning system and a 44 square meter dual screen electronic display system. There are 5000 fixed seats in the stands.
Badminton training hall
The four storey building with 10 columns on the front covers an area of 9185 square meters and 24 badminton courts. It is the training venue of Yiyang training base for Chinese badminton team.

The indoor swimming pool has a building area of 9000 square meters,. There is an eight Lane standard swimming pool in the museum. Equipped with site lighting, heating, air supply, water circulation treatment system and dressing, washing, disinfection and other facilities.
