Hedong Academy Library

Hedong academy library is located in the backyard of Daqu township government, 5km northwest of Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. Hedong Academy was built in 1514, the ninth year of Zhengde in Ming Dynasty. It suffered many calamities after that. Now there is only a library. The library is located behind the four teaching pavilions of the Academy. It faces south. It has a square two-story structure. It is made of brick and stone. The roof of the building is made of Xie Shan style imitation wood structure. The height is nearly 7 meters, and the bottom floor area is 81 square meters. The second floor covers an area of 38 square meters, and the relief around the wall has a dragon and fish pattern, which is very exquisite. Lu ran, a famous Confucian in Hedong in the Ming Dynasty, wrote a poem praising: "ten miles away from the city, the land is quiet and quiet, and the jade tower rises from Zhongtiao in the south. Since the tomb ceremony, there has been a full stop. Where can we find the head of the seamount? "

According to county records, Hedong academy originally covers an area of more than 30 mu, with more than 40 mu of school land. It faces south from the north, along the central axis to the north. In front of it are Xianmen, Yimen and lecture hall. In front of the hall, there is a roll shed on the steps, under which pine locust trees are planted. Chongyizhai is on the east side, and yuanlizhai is on the west side. To the north of the lecture hall is the Tuisi hall with five rooms. To the south of the East is the Zuoju room, and to the south of the west is the Youqu room. After Tuisi hall, it is the fourth religion Pavilion. After the four religious pavilions, it is the library. In the middle of the building is the shrine for worshiping the sages of the three Jin Dynasties, and on both sides are the rooms for collecting books. The library is surrounded by pool water, which is named ring pool. Lotus is planted in the pool, and you can go boating. To the north of huanchi is luanshitan. To the north of the beach is Jiufeng Mountain, on which is built Yangzhi Pavilion. Xingtan is famous in Shandong and Taoyuan in Shanxi.

There is a brick well beside the mountain, which is called the source. At the foot of the mountain, there are four caves leading to the back mountain. The cave is named Youxian. On the mountain, the rocks are jagged and the trees are luxuriant. The left mountain is named Bao Bian, and the right mountain is named Fengming. There was a sentence in the previous dengcang library that "the strange stones are piled up into nine stacked screens, and the floor is leaning against six Fuxing", which refers to rockery. There are pomegranate garden, Grape Garden and peony garden on both sides. There are pavilions for people to enjoy. Finally, there are hundred orchards and recreation pavilions. In the Academy, the buildings are solemn, the pavilions are proud, the bridges are flowing, the gardens are beautiful, the environment is elegant, and the scenery is pleasant. A poem about Hedong academy by predecessors vividly describes its beautiful scenery: "the resort is deep, the grass and trees are new, and the first place to build is to live in the neighborhood. Huayue mountain ring three jin, water with the Yellow River see seven Jin. If you have a Qin script period, you may as well go on a blind date. Zhu lotus path bamboo windy day, altar apricot palace celery and late spring Hedong Academy was the highest institution in southern Shanxi at that time, which lasted for 423 years from its completion to its closure.

County records

In the eighth year of Wanli (1580) of Ming Dynasty, Zhang Juzheng destroyed the academies of the world, and Li tingguan, the censor, was changed into "Sansheng Temple". In the thirteenth year of Wanli (1585), Zhao Kai, the censor, changed his name to "Chongsheng hall". In the sixteenth year of Wanli (1588), Wu Dake, the censor, changed his name to "Yucai hall". In 1902, Wu Kuang of Hedong road was renamed Hedong middle school. After the revolution of 1911, it was changed to "Provincial Second Middle School" and then to "provincial Yuncheng middle school". The Anti Japanese war broke out in 1937, and it was suspended in October. After the Japanese occupation, they were occupied by the Japanese and then burned. All the buildings except the library are in ruins. But the remains of rockery and stone bridge can still be distinguished.
