Jiuxi cave

Jiuxi cave is seventy miles north of the county. It is closed at the top and opened at the bottom. The road is open and there are nine rivers flowing around it. Located at the foot of Liyu mountain, Nanping mountain, Liuyang County. It is about 30 kilometers away from Liuyang County. Also known as Jiuji cave and Longdong Cave, it is a natural limestone cave. It is more than 300 meters long, about 14 meters high, and the widest part is about 20 meters. There are openings at both ends, and there is a trickle of water passing through the hole.

It is said that in ancient times, there was a huge dragon hidden in the cave. Sun Simiao, the king of medicine, sought treatment for his illness. The king of medicine agreed that after he was cured, he should be good and not hurt people's lives. He took the camphor leaf from the mountain and put it into each dragon scale. Then the Dragon recovered and turned into nine golden pheasants flying out of the cave, which is also called Jiuji cave.

Today, there are many scenes in the cave, such as "shoudongji", "seven story building", "longxinshi" and "ziwushui". At the exit of the cave tail, a stone stands about 3 meters high. It looks like a chicken, but it has a broken wing. It is said that when the evil dragon chicken flew out of the cave, it was shot down by a hunter and left in the cave. It turned into a stone and was named the hole guarding chicken.

There is a hole in the cave, which is curved, like a pagoda and has seven floors, so it is named "seven floors". People can climb the cave and spiral up. Between the second and third floors, there are huge stones in various shapes, such as crouching lions, Arhats, pillows and beds. "Longxinshi" in the east side of the entrance, hanging upside down from the top of the rock, about 2 meters long, brown, like a heart. The "midnight noon water" is at the top of the middle part of the cave. Whenever it's midnight, there are clear springs dripping

The rest of the time is invisible. The stalactites on the top and four walls of the cave are of strange shapes. The alchemy platform, reading platform and bath plate are related to the legend of Sun Simiao. Outside the entrance of Jiuji cave, Guanyin temple is a wooden structure with mud walls, green tiles and cornices. The main hall originally worships a clay statue of Guanyin. The date of its first construction is unknown, and the existing buildings are of the Qing Dynasty, which are dilapidated. Jiuji cave was changed into 509 warehouse in the early period of "Cultural Revolution", and the tourists disappeared. ?
