Zhenwushan ancient architectural complex
Located on the Zhenwu mountain in the northwest of the inner city of Yibin City, Sichuan Province, the ancient architectural complex of Zhenwu mountain was built in the second year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1574). By the middle of the Qing Dynasty, a large-scale architectural complex was formed, which mainly consisted of Taoist temples and integrated Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism.
Historical overview
Located on the Zhenwu mountain in the northwest of the inner city of Yibin City, Sichuan Province, the ancient architectural complex of Zhenwu mountain was built in the second year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1574). By the middle of the Qing Dynasty, a large-scale architectural complex was formed, which mainly consisted of Taoist temples and integrated Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism.
The temple is dominated by xuanzu hall in Ming Dynasty, with Eight Temples depending on the mountain and different shapes. The temple covers an area of about 33000 square meters, with a construction area of about 4000 square meters. The Temple group is mainly built in the Ming Dynasty, supplemented by the Qing Dynasty. It integrates buildings, halls, squares, corridors, bridges, pools, caves and platforms. It is a group of architectural examples with rich cultural connotations in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
In 1996, zhenwushan ancient building complex was announced by the State Council as the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Construction composition
Zhenwu mountain is famous as Xianlv mountain in Song Dynasty. In Ming Dynasty, it was named Zhenwu mountain and Shilai mountain. In the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1573), when Zeng Shengwu, the governor of Sichuan Province, visited duzhang people, he asked Zhenwu's grandmaster to help him. He built Zhenwu temple on the mountain, and then continued to build many temples. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, stone steps were built to imitate the three famous gates in Mount Tai: Tianmen, ertianmen and Santianmen. By the Qing Dynasty, there were more than 20 buildings, known as "famous Taoist mountain in southern Sichuan". Today, there are still eight ancient buildings, including Dimu palace and Wenchang palace, covering an area of 3.33 hectares.
Take advantage of the mountain
The ancient buildings are located on the Bank of the Minjiang River, surrounded by towering ancient trees, poetic and picturesque, just like a fairyland. Among the ancient buildings, xuanzu hall was built in the second year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1574), with a construction area of 156 square meters,
In front of the hall is a ruyi Dougong archway with a wood and stone structure built in Qing Dynasty; the ancestral hall was built in the ninth year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1581), with a construction area of 64 square meters. A stone bridge is erected in front of the hall, which is called "Yixian bridge".
Multiple additions
Wangbulou was also built in the ninth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, and was built in the 56th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1791). It is a triple eaves structure with beams on the top of the mountain. The second floor has a building area of 200 square meters. Wuliang hall was built in the Ming Dynasty,
In 1673, it was rebuilt, with a building area of about 220 square meters. At the back of the hall is yugutai, on which there was a Yuxian building, but now the building has been destroyed. Doumu palace was built in 1618, the 46th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, and was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It is composed of three halls, the front, the middle and the back, with a building area of 250 square meters;
Sanfu palace was built in Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty (1821-1850), with a building area of 638 square meters; three major halls of Wenchang palace were built in early Longqing period of Ming Dynasty (1567), with a building area of 876 square meters, and Dimu palace was built in Qing Dynasty, with a building area of 108 square meters.
Today's situation
Today, zhenwushan ancient buildings have been used as the site of Yibin Museum.
