Temple History
In 1908, the 13th Dalai Lama, tudengjiacuo, returned to Tibet from Beijing and lived in Xiaodeng temple for more than a month through Naqu Town. He met with the living Buddha kangrenbuqin and instructed that from the year of the tiger in the Tibetan calendar, Xiaodeng temple will hold a Dharma mission on January 4 of the Tibetan calendar every year, and all monks can enjoy the treatment of Lhasa Dharma mission. It also instructed that the number of lamas in Xiaodeng temple should not be less than 300. The temple does not hold a large-scale religious dance "Qiangmu" in August every year, except that it regularly holds a church according to religious rituals. The most distinctive "Qiang Mu" in Xiaodeng temple is called "Jieqiang Mu" and "Jiusong Qiang Muqin". "Jie" means "Ba" and "Qiang Mu" means "dance" or "dance". It is a kind of Qiang Mu performed in August, so it is called "Jie Qiang Mu". "Jiusong" means "13" and "Qin" means "large-scale" or "formal". It is a large-scale religious dance officially performed on the 13th, and the local people call it "Jiusong qiangmqin". On August 2 of the Tibetan calendar, people who do not wear Qiangmu costumes for performance are called "Debra", which means light, and actually means internal rehearsal; on August 8, people who wear Qiangmu costumes for performance are called "Jieyang Qiangmu"; on August 13, people who wear the best costumes for formal performance are called "Jiusong qiangmqin". At that time, people nearby will come to the temple to watch. A grand exorcism ceremony was held after Qiangmu's performance.
Shortly after the construction of Xiaodeng temple, Daren temple was built by Gesi sorangdajie of sera temple; nun temple, sangdenglin temple, and naimu temple in andor were built by the fourth Lord Kangfu, luosang Zunzhu danbaijiacuo, in 1844; tangga temple, sangduizaga temple, and Zhuoyue ancient temple in andor were built by the fifth Lord Kangfu, luosang Danzengjiacuo. With the implementation of the party's religious policy, these temples have been restored and can carry out normal religious activities.
Living Buddha
Xiaodeng temple was built by living Buddha luosangzunzhu danbaijiacuo, with a history of nearly 200 years. There are seven generations of living Buddhas in the temple. The seventh generation of living Buddhas is named luosangsa and tudenggezhu. It is said that this name was specially taken by Erdeni chojijianzan, the tenth Panchen Lama, when he visited Naqu in 1980. The local people call him "Lord kangrenbuqin", and he is now the chairman of Naqu Buddhist Association.
