Gezhen art museum is located in Nantong Wenfeng tower. It was built in 1989. Mr. Wang Gezhen is a disciple of Wu (Changshuo) and a master of traditional Chinese painting.

Gezhen art museum is located in Nantong Wenfeng tower. It was built in 1989. Mr. Wang Gezhen is a disciple of Wu (Changshuo) and a master of traditional Chinese painting. Ge Lao inherits the fine tradition of Wu school and has been exploring for more than 70 years. He is known as "contemporary fou Weng". The museum has more than 200 paintings and calligraphy works donated by Mr. Wang's relatives to Nantong municipal government in accordance with Mr. Wang's will, as well as the paintings and calligraphy of celebrities in the past dynasties.

Personage introduction

Wang Gezhen (1897-1988), a famous scholar, was born in Haimen City, Jiangsu Province. At the age of 16, he went to Nantong to study. He was good at poetry, stone, calligraphy and painting. Introduced by Zhu Zongyuan at the age of 27, he went to Shanghai to serve as Wu Changshuo's teacher, and also studied calligraphy, painting and seal cutting from Wu. He has been a professor of Shanghai Xinhua Art University, Soochow University, Changming art college, Professor of Shanghai Art College and director of the Department of traditional Chinese painting. After the founding of new China, he served as vice president and honorary president of Shanghai Academy of painting, director of China Artists Association, vice chairman of Shanghai Branch of Artists Association and Calligraphers Association, vice president of Xiling Seal printing society, and librarian of Shanghai Literature and history museum. He is a member of the third, fourth and fifth CPPCC National Committee. He visited Japan three times and visited Singapore in 1985 to give lectures and hold painting exhibitions to promote cultural exchanges with foreign countries.

Nantong Gezhen Art Museum

On July 26, Wu Xilai's art exhibition was held in Gezhen Art Museum. The 33 works on display were created by Wu Xilai in junior high school and senior high school. Most of them were imitations of famous works, such as Wu Changshuo's "breaking plum blossoms and sprinkling clothes with wind and snow", "flowers beside Tao Lingli are as big as a fight", and song Wenzhi's "spring sounds and swallowing dangerous stones". Wu Xilai was born in Tongzhou, Jiangsu Province in 1998. Since she was 8 years old, she has studied painting under the guidance of national senior artist Mr. Yu zengshan. She has graduated from primary school and junior high school, and studied in Tongzhou senior high school, Jiangsu Province.

The 12th Nantong children's painting and calligraphy exhibition

Wang Shutang's calligraphy and painting exhibition in Australia

On August 8, the painting and calligraphy exhibition of Wang Shutang in Australia jointly sponsored by Nantong Calligrapher Association and Nantong Gezhen Art Museum opened in Nantong Gezhen Art Museum. Zheng Xiaohua, director of China Calligraphers Association and Secretary General of Academic Committee of China Calligraphers Association, Qiu Shi, executive director of Jiangsu Calligraphers Association and chairman of Nantong Calligraphers Association, inscribed the logo and preface for the exhibition; Wei Wu, director of Jiangsu Calligraphers Association and vice chairman of Nantong Calligraphers Association, inscribed the inscription. Mr. Wang Shutang copied "Mustard garden" and "Ma Tai painting treasure" when he was young. At that time, he did not have a teacher, just graffiti. In 1959, Wang Shutang chose to carve characters as his career. In order to improve his skills, he practiced calligraphy for more than 20 years. In 1987, he joined the Chinese Calligraphy Association and studied in creation, theory and collection. Last year, he was invited to Australia to travel, collect customs, give lectures and hold exhibitions to exchange and spread the traditional Chinese art of calligraphy, painting and seal cutting. After more than seven months this year, we have created more than 30 pieces of calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and seal cutting. Now we have selected 33 pieces of calligraphy and painting with the theme of "impression of Australia" and displayed them together with 22 seals of "impression of Australia". This year is Mr. Wang Shutang's birthday year. He is still diligent and full of humor. This exhibition is his first exhibition in 55 years. It will be held until August 18.

Works exhibition of Nantong Academy of calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting

On August 12, the "jianghaidanbiao Nantong calligraphy and traditional Chinese Painting Research Institute works exhibition" co sponsored by Anhui Academy of calligraphy and painting, Lai Shaoqi Art Museum, Nantong calligraphy and traditional Chinese Painting Research Institute and Nantong Gezhen art museum was opened in Hefei Lai Shaoqi Art Museum. He used to be a deputy to the Municipal People's Congress and a member of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. Before his death, he was a member of China printmaker Association, a director of Shanghai Wu Changshuo Art Research Association, a director of provincial printmaking Association, and the president of Shanghai Fine Arts Research Association. Qiu Feng was fond of painting when he was young. In his youth, he publicized the revolution with print. His traditional Chinese painting was taught by Mr. Wang Gezhen. He was especially good at landscape painting. His works have been exhibited at home and abroad for many times. He has written Qiu Feng's print, the list of local painters and calligraphers in Nantong, the painter Li Fangying, etc., and has been included in the list of contemporary Chinese artists and other dictionaries. In this exhibition, there are 30 paintings created by Qiu Feng over the years, as well as inscriptions for his works by famous artists such as Wang Gezhen and fan Zeng. At the same time, there are also manuscripts, artistic achievements and other literature materials of Qiu Feng's research on Nantong local art history

style of art

Wang Gezhen has made great achievements in painting, calligraphy, seal cutting and poetry with his own style. His paintings, with the quintessence of fou Lu, take nature as a teacher and go deep into life, have a unique style. In his later years, he broke through the pattern of Wumen and promoted the Shanghai style art to a higher level. His calligraphy is full of stone drum and brush, with dynamic and static strokes, vigorous and vigorous, and rich in the spirit of gold and stone; the cursive calligraphy is superb. The seal cutting of gedao is as good as that of Qin and Han Dynasties. Poetry is like folk songs of Yuefu, with fragrant mountain style.

Collection of works

Wang Gezhen has collected his works and printed them into volumes, including Gezhen painting collection, Gezhen Yincun, wanggezhen shuangchage poetry collection, wanggezhen capriccio, etc. When he died in his senior year, he left behind many elaborate works. He ordered his collection of calligraphy and painting, his personal fine works, and his hometown to be given. Beside Sanyuan bridge in Nantong, he built "Gezhen Art Museum" to collect them.
