Historical development

Maoershan National Forest Park was built in 1958 and officially established in 1992 with the approval of the Ministry of forestry. The park is located 86 km away from Harbin City on HA Mu expressway, 89 km to the East, which is Yabuli ski resort, the main venue of 2009 Winter Games. It is composed of Harbin, Yuquan Northern Forest Zoo, Maoershan National Forest Park and Yabuli ski resort, the most famous "golden line of northern Tourism" in Heilongjiang Province.

Changbai Mountain Botanical Garden

Located in the east side of Maoer, it has an area of 44 hectares. It's a good place for sightseeing with dense forest and various trees.

Tiger carving Plaza

At the entrance of the mountain, there stands a tiger carving. The cornerstone is 3 meters high and the tiger is 2 meters high. There is a young calligrapher Yang Qingshan cursive "Huxiao Changbai" inscription. It shows Yanbian people's brave and indomitable fighting spirit.

Stone pagoda

Originally, it was used as a mark of counting, that is, every time climbers come, they put a piece of stone to be proud of the majority and enhance their confidence in climbing. This gradually increased, and the stone tower was built like this. Its round tower shaped foot can mean smooth and complete. Now it is also one of the scenic spots in Maoer Mountain.

Sign frame

Mountain spring water

Duntai site

Maoershan used to be a beacon tower in ancient times. It was made of volcanic rocks. Its height is about 3 meters and its top diameter is about 6-8 meters. It is believed that it was a beacon tower in the Bohai Sea period.

Especially when night falls, the playground where the springboard is put on turns into a stage for a bonfire party. Korean girls in pink ethnic costumes hold porcelain discs and dance in the music "Arirang" played by the accordion. Korean girls began to dance "Long Drum Dance" again. Even the tourists could not sit still. They came out of the pavilion and danced around the bonfire.

Nearby, there are Qishi exhibition hall, racecourse, winter ski resort and other entertainment and leisure projects. The "Changcheng" in front of the gate is set up as the "patron saint" of the village. Since the end of November 2007, the convenient infrastructure construction project of Maoershan in Yanji has been gradually implemented. Leisure square, forest park management and protection office and parking lot were built one after another. The entrance to the peak is paved with step plank road, which is paved with plank road wood soaked with camphor pine. From the north of Maoer Mountain on the right side, the tourists climb slowly along the plank road. There is a wooden plank road nearly three kilometers long leading to the peak. It takes about 25-30 minutes to reach the top of the mountain and 20-25 minutes to reach the crossing from the south slope down the plank road.

For many years, many mountaineers have stepped on a path leading to the top of Maoer Mountain in the west side of Yanbian hotel. This path has beautiful scenery and three sweet springs, which are very popular with mountaineers. As a National Forest Park, after the completion of Maoershan phase I project, it has attracted a large number of people for mountain climbing and sightseeing, resulting in overcrowding on the Mountaineering Road. In order to divert tourists, improve the safety factor and achieve the purpose of exercise and leisure, a new climbing Road was opened in the west of Yanbian hotel in 2008. Yanbian Hotel (formerly Lishan Holiday Hotel) to the Mountaineering Road of Maoer peak. The total length of the road is 7 km. There is a parking lot at the entrance to the mountain. Five tourist attractions are developed along the way, and sightseeing signs are set up. The average width of the road surface is 2 meters. The bottom layer of the road surface is paved with concrete. On it, marble, fire boards and rain stones are used to beautify the road surface. There are also trestles and bridges. Along with the change of mountain shape, the landscape and pavilions with Korean national characteristics will be randomly selected on both sides of the road to provide convenience for climbers and become another beautiful scenic line of Maoer Mountain. A public toilet with microbial circulation will be built on Maoershan. Yanji is the first city in Northeast China to introduce this kind of public toilets. There are 20 toilets for men and women in this public toilet, which uses ecological circulation to treat feces without water flushing and odor. There are also two special toilets for the disabled, which are both environmental friendly and hygienic. In addition, a large parking lot will be set up in Yanbian international trade folk custom park, so that tourists with cars will no longer worry about parking.

There is also a Korean folk garden on Maoer Mountain, which is a window for tourists to understand the customs of Yanbian. There are also many entertainment projects such as circus performance in the folk custom park. Every holiday, dressed up Korean compatriots come and go here, the atmosphere is warm and happy.
