Mongolian astronomical map stone carving
It is located on the shadow wall behind the pagoda of Vajra. With the north pole of the celestial sphere as the center, the meridian of the 28 constellations' right ascension position is drawn, and there are five concentric circles. From the inside out, there are the Arctic Circle, the summer solstice, the equatorial circle, the winter solstice and the polar circle. Crossing the celestial equator, another double loop represents the ecliptic. There are about 270 stars and more than 1570 stars. There are four concentric circles on the outside of the celestial sphere; the outermost layer is engraved with the names of the twelve palaces and zodiac; the second layer is engraved with the names of 24 solar terms; the outer side of the third layer is the degree of the zodiac, the inner side is the degree of the equatorial; the innermost layer is engraved with the names of 28 constellations. There is a rectangular signature column on the left side of the lower part of the picture, which is engraved with the legend of magnitude and marked with the words "astronomical map drawn by qintianjian". It is the only existing stone carving with astronomical map marked in Mongolian in China, reflecting the level of astronomy in the early Qing Dynasty.
