Inner Mongolia Geological and mineral exhibition hall
Inner Mongolia Museum of Geology and mineral resources is a provincial geological museum in China. Located in Hulun South Road, Hohhot. It was completed and opened in 1989.
brief introduction
The museum has six exhibition halls. It is one of the largest provincial geological museums in China. There are three main types of rock specimens of magmatic rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks, and various kinds of biological fossil specimens, among which there are well preserved Paleozoic cephalopods, plants in coal measures, and various mineral specimens.
Display focus
The exhibition focuses on the mineral resources of Inner Mongolia, mainly including:
① Bayan Obo rare earth metals, iron ores and dozens of products produced by them account for about 80% of the world's total reserves;
② Copper, lead and zinc deposits in the Mesoproterozoic strata in the western part of the northern margin of North China;
③ Chromium ore with the second largest reserves in China;
④ Coal and salt are the dominant minerals in Inner Mongolia;
⑤ The reserves of Iceland spar and pyrite rank first in China;
⑥ The only superlarge fluorite deposit in China is Sumochagan Oboo deposit;
⑦ Beryl, topaz, apatite, muscovite and phlogopite are large and complete crystals;
⑧ Famous gems, jades and colored stone minerals at home and abroad, such as aquamarine and aquamarine from jiaoligetai, large Hibiscus stone from Wula mountain, huge Baoshan agate, colorful Palin stone and chicken blood stone and their carvings, etc.
