Wanfo temple in Qingliang mountain, the Song Dynasty grottoes, is one of the four major Grottoes in Northern Shaanxi. From January 1937 to March 27, 1947, the printing workshop of the central printing house was located on Qingliang mountain. It is known as the "news mountain" in red Yan'an, which has made indelible contributions to the Chinese revolution. On August 6, 1956, it was announced as the first batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units; on May 25, 2006, it was announced as the national key cultural relics protection units; in 2011, it was rated as 3A level tourist attraction and the three major red education bases in China.

On the east side of Qingliang is the Xinhua radio station, Xinhua news agency and Jiefang Daily in Yan'an period. The Wanfo grottoes are the former sites of revolutionary cultural relics such as central printing house, banknote factory, health center and Xinhua bookstore.

History and culture

The ten thousand Buddha cave in Qingliang mountain was excavated before the Sui Dynasty. There were statues or maintenance in Tang, song, Jin, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are mainly four Grottoes in Wanfo cave, which are large-scale and carved by the mountain. There are thousands of stone Buddhas with different shapes on the stone pillars and on the four walls of the cave. The art of the stone carving is superb and exquisite. It is a precious historical and cultural heritage, which has been appreciated and cherished by celebrities, poets and people of insight in the past dynasties. Fan Zhongyan, a great writer and statesman, once wrote four poems of Qingliang manxing, praising it as "digging mountains into stone buildings and admiring Ten Thousand Buddhas.". It's rare in the world. There is no magic power.

Qingliang mountain is also one of the symbols of Yan'an, the holy land of revolution. Chen Yi's poem "going to Yan'an to leave the comrades in Central China" says: "how brilliant are the stars? Beidou is stationed in Yan'an. There are waves in the sea, flying up to Qingliangshan. " Another song "chanting the opening of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China" says: "one hundred years of weakness, I sigh for the mansion, eight years of fighting in Yan'an. There are 18 caves, 24 sceneries, more than 40 rock carvings, poems and inscriptions in Qingliang mountain. There is a hall of Supreme Harmony on the top of the mountain. At the foot of the mountain is the famous ten thousand Buddha cave. There are Lupi cliff, the third Buddha cave, Maitreya cave and Sakyamuni cave on the west side of Wanfo cave. It is said that Lu Dongbin, one of the eight immortals, once visited here. Peach blossom cave is said to have peach blossoms flying out in heavy snow. In addition, there are Shiwan, shuizhao Yan'an, yueerjing, Pipa bridge, sazhupo, Junfeng spring, chajinyan, luoxingyan, dingchi spring and other places of interest around the Wanfo cave.

Qingliangshan is more than 100 meters high and has a radius of about 4 kilometers. Now Qingliangshan park has been built. The park has lush trees and steep terrain. The main historic sites are Qingliang temple, Chongzheng academy, saoyalou, zhumapo, Cuiwei garden, etc.

The gate of the park is a three arch archway, and the three characters of "Qingliangshan" on the middle gate are written by Gong Xian, the owner of the building. Qingliang temple is located at the south foot of Qingliang mountain. Now there is only one five bay bungalow, with red walls and black tiles. Osmanthus fragrans and green bamboo are planted around it. The word "ancient Qingliang Temple" is written on the door. In front of the house, there is a circular gate with the words "Qingliang bieyuan". Behind the house, there is a six corner pavilion with an ancient well, which is called huanyangquan.

The Wanfo cave was excavated before the Sui Dynasty. There were statues or statues in Tang, song, Jin, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Since the Song Dynasty, there have been many Grottoes dominated by ten thousand Buddha Caves, with splendid temples and exuberant incense. Lu Yan (Dongbin), a famous Taoist at the end of the Tang Dynasty, once wrote "Qingliang manxing" which says: "the cloud cage is green, the wall is frozen, and the hundred foot tower is at night. When I come here for three or five years, I will never meet a monk on the stone steps. Fan Zhongyan, a politician and litterateur of the Northern Song Dynasty, once visited the mountain and wrote a poem: "Jinming obstructs Xiling, Qingliang temple to the East, Yanshui to the middle, one county and two cities.". Since the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Qingliang mountain has been a combination of Buddhism and Taoism. The mountain is steep, towering and beautiful. According to the annals of Yan'an Prefecture, the mountain is covered with rugged buildings, resplendent sceneries, scenic spots and historic sites. It is called "golden immortal Wonderland" and is well-known in SANQIN. It has been a tourist attraction since ancient times.

Shiwan

Shiwan, above the south side of Wanfo cave. There are more than 50 cliff inscriptions by celebrities and scholars of past dynasties. The real grass and seal characters are scattered all over the bay. Located beside Shiwan, there is a 3-meter-long flat stone platform with a crescent shaped water bowl in the middle. From the right corner of the water bowl, you can see the Yan'an City Wall on Fenghuang mountain, so it is called "water shines on Yan'an". On the edge of the water bowl stands a small stone tablet of Erlong Xizhu, in which the four words "shuizhao Yan'an" are engraved upside down. Looking down around the water bowl, you can see the four words "shuizhao Yan'an" in the water, which is very magnificent and interesting. After the poem Bay, you will arrive at the towering and small Yinyue Pavilion, which looks like a vigorous bird overlooking the sky. Visitors climb the pavilion, lean forward to look down on the fence, a hook bow moon gushes out from the bottom of the well, so it is called "moon well". On a starry night, the moon in the well and the moon in the sky complement each other, which makes people marvel.

Fan Gong Temple

Fan Gong temple, on the south side of Yinyue Pavilion. Two "WangYan Pavilions" stand on the left and right of the temple. In the temple, there is a military statue of Fan Zhongyan when he was fighting against Xixia in Yanzhou. On both sides of the walls are engraved Fan Zhongyan's good sentences. On the plaque of the ancestral hall door, there are six big characters "the first person of the Song Dynasty", and the couplet is: "worry about the worries of the world first, and then enjoy the happiness of the world." Opposite the fan Gong temple is an ancient temple with four streams, nine ridges and ten beasts on the Xieshan mountain. It is magnificent and magnificent. The plaque on the door of the temple is engraved with the four words "wonders of the world". There are also two couplets to show the beauty of "spectacle": "read all the strange things in the world, then you can know the injustice of the world." "look at the merits and demerits of ancient and modern heroes in two rivers and one city, and see the good and evil of three rivers and two mountains through the ages. Above the "wonders of the world" lies DONGSHANTOU, the former site of Xinhua news agency, Yan'an Xinhua radio station, Jiefang Daily and other departments of the CPC Central Committee in Yan'an.
