Quanzhou caohan
Cao'an is located at the foot of Huabiao mountain in Jinjiang. It was built in 1399, the fifth year of the Yuan Dynasty. It is the only stone carving remains of Mani in China. The Cao'an temple is built on a terrace, with a wall made of huge stones and green ancient trees around it. The temple has been restored many times. Now it is a single eaves Xieshan style building with a width of 6.7 meters and a depth of 3.4 meters.
On the natural stone of the main wall of the temple, there is a carved round Buddha figure, in which there is a sitting statue of Mani Buddha, 1.52 meters high and 0.83 meters wide. The stone is white granite, the face of the Buddha is diabase, and the hand is pink, which is made in heaven and earth. Buddha long hair shawl, face square eyebrow bend, ear big droop shoulder, chin two pinch of long beard droop. He was dressed in a wide sleeve monk's robe, with no buttons, a bow knot, and a butterfly shape. His hands were folded on his cross legs, and his palms were upward. The background of the statue is carved with a wave of linear Buddha light. The image is well preserved and used as the emblem of the first world mani teaching seminar. There are cliff inscriptions such as "wanshifeng", "Yuquan" and "YUNTI Baiji" on the back mountain of the Cao'an; on the right side of the Cao'an, there are cliff inscriptions such as "exhorting pure and bright, devoting great efforts to wisdom, supreme truth, Mani Guangfo". Unfortunately, because of the opening of the mountain, the inscriptions have disappeared. In recent years, black glazed bowls have been excavated near the Cao'an, and the characters "Ming church" have been engraved on the bottom of the bowls, which shows that the Manichaeism in Quanzhou area had the scale of unified cooking tableware at that time. There are "hermit bridge", "eight Phoenix pool" and "thousand year old cypress" in front of the Cao'an; there are "ten thousand stone peak", "dragon spring rock" and "jade spring" behind the Cao'an.
