Jinzhou City Museum
Jinzhou museum is a local comprehensive museum, which is a national second-class Museum. It is located in the north of Guta Park, Guta District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. It was founded in 1953.
Jinzhou museum is divided into two parts: East and West. In the west, there is a new exhibition hall, covering an area of more than 7000 square meters and a construction area of more than 5700 square meters. There are six exhibition halls in the museum, including the "beautiful state" exhibition of history and civilization, cultural relics exhibition, western Liaoning customs exhibition, folk arts and crafts exhibition. In the East, there is the daguangji Temple ancient building complex, covering an area of more than 8000 square meters There are many exhibitions, such as "loyal soul of Jiawu", "Mazu culture", "song of Anti Japanese volunteers in western Liaoning", "folk arts and crafts in western Liaoning", "religious art" and so on. As of 2015, there are 17 categories of cultural relics in the collection, including porcelain, archaeology, jade, bronze, currency, calligraphy and painting, stone tools and miscellaneous items, with a total of more than 16000 pieces (sets).
In February 2020, in order to pay deep respect to the national health care workers, Jinzhou museum will be open to the national health care workers free of charge from the date of resumption of operation to December 31, 2020.
Development history
On May 5, 1953, with the approval of the social and cultural administration bureau of the Ministry of culture, the Preparatory Office of the local chronicles Museum of western Liaoning Province was established in Jinzhou. The preparatory office has seven staff, and the first curator is Yan Baohai.
In 1954, Liaoxi and Liaodong provinces merged into Liaoning Province, and the Preparatory Office of Liaoxi Provincial Museum of local records was renamed Jinzhou Office of Preparatory Office of Liaoning Provincial Museum of local records.
In December 1956, the Jinzhou Office of the Preparatory Office of Liaoning Provincial chorography museum was transferred from Liaoning Provincial Bureau of culture to Jinzhou City, named Jinzhou Museum of historical relics.
In 1957, it was renamed "Preparatory Office of Jinzhou historical relics exhibition hall".
In 1958, it worked with the newly established Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall.
In 1959, it was renamed "Jinzhou Local Records Museum".
In July 1962, in response to the call of the state, the museum reduced its organization.
In 1966, it merged with the library and was named "Jinzhou Book Museum".
In 1969, it was separated from the library.
In 1973, it was officially renamed "Jinzhou Museum".
In 1986, the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial was moved to a new building. Jinzhou City Museum and Liaoshen Campaign Memorial were officially separated and became independent units.
In March 2000, the new building of Jinzhou Museum broke ground on the west side of daguangji temple.
In November 2001, the new building of Jinzhou museum was completed. On December 20, the new building of Jinzhou museum was fully completed and officially opened to the public.

The new museum has two floors above ground and one floor below ground. A ring-shaped shadow wall is designed in the lobby. Six exhibition halls are set up in the museum area to display the "beautiful state" historical civilization exhibition, cultural relics exhibition, western Liaoning style exhibition, western Liaoning style exhibition, western Liaoning style exhibition Folk arts and crafts exhibition. In the East is the ancient building complex of daguangji temple, in which the Guangji temple, Tianhou palace and Zhaozhong temple are protected and managed by the museum, covering an area of more than 8000 square meters.

Historical civilization exhibition of "splendid state"
Taking the cultural relics of various historical periods unearthed locally in Jinzhou as objects, the exhibition uses modern multimedia technology to reflect the long-standing, profound historical culture and brilliant achievements of Jinzhou in nine historical periods, including the Paleolithic age, the new era, the bronze age, the Warring States period, the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Sixteen Kingdoms period, the Liao Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty The ancient civilization of China.

Western Liaoning style exhibition
The exhibition introduces the new year's season with the characteristics of western Liaoning, which is familiar to the old people in western Liaoning. It is full of rich western Liaoning customs.
Folk arts and crafts exhibition
The exhibition shows folk art works such as paper-cut, print, shadow play, root carving, word tearing, clay sculpture, straw weaving and kite.
Special exhibition
Up to 2011, Jinzhou Museum has successively launched more than 40 special exhibitions, including "ancient Chinese coins", "collection porcelain", "loyal soul of Jiawu", "historical civilization of western Liaoning Corridor", "fossils of ancient organisms in western Liaoning", "folk customs in western Liaoning", "collection products", "folk crafts in western Liaoning" and "unearthed exhibition of Daoguang wine".
Honors
On April 24, 2013, it was rated as a national second-class Museum by the State Administration of cultural relics.
In April 2006, it was awarded the national defense education base.
In March 2015, it was rated as the civilized unit of Liaoning Province in 2012-2014.
