--Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall is a special military museum, mainly composed of revolutionary martyrs memorial tower, martyrs directory monument, large group sculpture, weapons garden, square and memorial hall. It is a patriotic education base for children.
--By visiting the guns, flags, medals, production tools, as well as a large number of graphic introductions and panoramic paintings of the battlefield in the memorial hall, you can learn about the process of the Liaoshen campaign of the Chinese Liberation War and the hard revolutionary career of the martyrs.
--There are voluntary commentators in the memorial hall, who will explain according to the batch of tourists, and the explanation time is about 1 hour. It is suggested to follow the commentators to hear more vivid historical knowledge and revolutionary stories, and the panorama will play for about 15 minutes.
Memorial Hall of Liaoshen Campaign
Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall is located in Linghe District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. Founded in January 1959, it is a large military theme park integrating historical research, cultural communication, art exhibition, tourism and leisure. Its predecessor is Jinzhou Office of the Preparatory Office of Liaoning Provincial Local Records Museum and Jinzhou historical relics exhibition hall. It is located in the ancient building of daguangji temple at the foot of the ancient pagoda in the old city of Jinzhou, namely Jinzhou Museum.
In October 1963, the exhibition was basically completed and opened. The museum was forced to close at the beginning of the "Cultural Revolution" and was cancelled after the "September 13 incident". It was restored in 1978 and reopened after modifying the display. In October of the same year, Marshal Ye Jianying inscribed the name of the museum, and the work was gradually on the right track. In April 1985, the central government approved the construction of the new museum. The new museum is located in the north of the memorial tower for the revolutionary martyrs of the Liaoshen campaign in the center of the city. It was completed and opened on October 31, 1988.
In 2001, Liaoning provincial Party committee and government decided to carry out a comprehensive renovation of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall, which was completed and reopened on November 2, 2004. According to the spirit of the instructions of the Central Committee and the provincial and municipal Party committees, the memorial hall took the lead in opening to the public free of charge from March 1, 2008. In December 2016, it was selected into the list of national Red Tourism classic scenic spots.
In February 2020, in order to show deep respect to the national medical workers, the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall will be open to the national medical workers free of charge from the date of its restoration to December 31, 2020.
Construction process
Before the construction of the Museum
In May 1953, the Preparatory Office of the Local Records Museum of western Liaoning Province was established.
In 1954, western Liaoning Province and Eastern Liaoning Province merged to form Liaoning Province. The Preparatory Office of the western Liaoning Local Records Museum was renamed Jinzhou Office of the Preparatory Office of the Liaoning Local Records Museum.
On April 4, 1956, the memorial tower for the revolutionary martyrs of the Liaoshen campaign officially started construction. In December 1956, the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of culture instructed that the Jinzhou Office of the Preparatory Office of the Liaoning Provincial Museum of local records was transferred from the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of culture to Jinzhou City. According to the collection, it was named Jinzhou Museum of historical relics, and the work was centered on the Liaoshen campaign.
On October 1, 1957, the Jinzhou Museum of historical relics was opened in the ancient buildings of daguangji temple at the foot of the ancient pagoda. Among them, on display in the exhibition room of the Liaoshen campaign are our army's mobilization orders, letters to inform commanders and fighters, appeals, victories and certificates of meritorious service, Mao Zedong's medal, Zhu De's medal, northeast liberation commemorative medal, flags of various heroic regiments, companies and Tashan heroic regiment.
On November 2, 1957, the unveiling ceremony of the memorial tower for the revolutionary martyrs of the Liaoshen campaign was held. In front of the tower are 12 gold-plated characters inscribed by commander-in-chief Zhu De: "the revolutionary martyrs of the Liaoshen campaign will live forever.".
On October 6, 1958, the culture section of Jinzhou Municipal People's Committee presented to the Propaganda Department of the CPC Jinzhou Municipal Committee the report on the transformation of Jinzhou historical relics exhibition hall into Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall [(58) Jinwen No. 40].
On December 24, 1958, the Cultural Department of Jinzhou City presented to the Propaganda Department of the CPC Jinzhou Municipal Committee the request for instructions on the organizational reform of Jinzhou historical and cultural relics exhibition hall [(58) JINZI No. 48], suggesting that the present Jinzhou historical and cultural relics exhibition hall should be changed into the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall, and the Preparatory Office of Jinzhou Local Records Museum should be established, whose organization and leadership should be unified internally and maintain two names externally.
On December 30, 1958, Jinzhou Culture Department forwarded to Jinzhou historical and cultural relics exhibition hall the request for instructions on the organizational reform of Jinzhou historical and cultural relics exhibition hall approved by the Party Committee [(58) JINZI Document No. 49], and the instructions can be implemented immediately.
In January 1959, the memorial hall of Liaoshen campaign was officially set up in daguangji temple. The history of the Liao Shen campaign is on display.
In September 1963, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the victory of the Liaoshen campaign, Marshal Lin Biao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, vice chairman of the CPC Central Committee, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and Minister of national defense, inscribed the name of the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial hall.
In September 1964, with the approval of the Ministry of civil affairs of the people's Republic of China, the memorial hall for the revolutionary martyrs in the Liaoshen campaign was built. In 1965, according to the spirit of the instructions issued by the central government on banning the construction of halls, the construction of halls was stopped.
On April 16, 1972, Jinzhou Revolutionary Committee instructed that the memorial hall of Liaoshen campaign should be cancelled, and the work should be merged into Jinzhou library and renamed Jinzhou Book Museum.
On April 21, 1974, Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall was separated from Jinzhou library museum and renamed Jinzhou Museum.
On June 26, 1974, Jinzhou Civil Affairs Bureau and Jinzhou Culture Bureau jointly sent a letter to Jinzhou Revolutionary Committee, requesting the restoration of the organizational system of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall.
In September 1977, the Cultural Bureau of Jinzhou City instructed to restore the system of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall, and set up a leading organization with Jinzhou City Museum for unified leadership.
In 1978, Yang Meiying, deputy director of the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall, and others went to Beijing. Through Comrade Lin Yueqin, wife of Marshal Luo Ronghuan, they invited Comrade Ye Jianying, then vice chairman of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, to inscribe the name of the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall.
On October 1, 1978, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Liaoshen campaign, the Liaoning provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China instructed the restoration of the Liaoshen campaign.
On October 23, 1978, Marshal Ye Jianying happily inscribed the name of the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall.
In 1979, the Liaoning Provincial People's government planned to build a new memorial hall of the Liaoshen campaign, which was later postponed according to the approval of the CPC Central Committee.
Building a new library
On August 13, 1983, Comrade Chen Yun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the first Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Comrade Huang Kecheng, the Second Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, convened the veteran comrades who had worked in Northeast China in those years, as well as the personnel who wrote the book Liaoshen decisive battle, to give more detailed guidance on the guiding ideology, structure, content and methods of compiling the book, and how to write it He gave important instructions for running the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall well.
On July 29, 1984, the CPC Jinzhou Municipal Committee and the municipal government jointly presented the "report on petitioning for the construction of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall" to the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and the provincial government.
On October 10, 1984, the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee, the provincial government and the Shenyang military region jointly submitted to the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission the request for instructions on the construction of the memorial hall of the Liaoshen campaign in Jinzhou.
On April 29, 1985, the general office of the CPC Central Committee, the general office of the State Council and the general office of the Central Military Commission of the CPC jointly issued (Ting Zi No. 139) the official reply on the construction of the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall, agreeing to build the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall (new hall) in Jinzhou.
On July 11, 1985, a meeting of the leading group for the preparation of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall was held in Jinzhou. It was decided to set up a leading group for the preparation, with Liu Zhenhua, member of the CPC Central Committee and political commissar of Shenyang Military Region as the leader.
On September 7, 1985, Jinzhou Municipal Organization Committee issued the "reply on the establishment and establishment of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial" (No. 83 of Jinbian FA). Liaoshen Campaign Memorial was separated from Jinzhou Museum and became an independent unit.

On December 12, 1985, the second working meeting of the leading group for the preparation of Liaoshen Campaign Memorial was held in Jinzhou. This paper discusses the list of proposals for the composition of the building committee, and deliberates on the preliminary design scheme of the new library.
On April 8, 1986, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the General Political Department of the people's Liberation Army issued the notice on the members of the building committee of the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial Hall.
