Ceremony of offering sacrifices to Confucius
The first ceremony of offering sacrifices to Confucius was held in Hulan Confucian temple in 1929 and became an official place of offering sacrifices to Confucius after 1935. However, this once large-scale ancient building complex is now in disrepair and is becoming increasingly dilapidated, which has long lost its charm. Now the Hulan Confucian Temple site is in the hospital of Heilongjiang tuberculosis hospital in Hulan County, and several new buildings have been developed on the north side of the site. Hulan Confucian temple was once used as a school, and there are still words of "unity, tension, seriousness and liveliness" in its interior.
Renovation works
After two demonstrations, the preparatory work for the repair of Hulan Confucian temple, a cultural relic protection unit in Harbin, has been basically completed. At the same time, Shigong temple and Diaoyutai, which are adjacent to the Confucian temple, will be repaired. The three cultural relics will be integrated into a unique historical and cultural park. Hulan Confucian temple was built in 1927, two years earlier than Harbin Confucian temple. It covers an area of 17100 square meters, is a typical late Qing Dynasty Classical national architectural style. The complex, including Dacheng hall, Chongsheng temple, Lingxing gate and Zhuangyuan bridge, is the official place of offering sacrifices to Confucius in Hulan. Due to long-term wind and rain erosion and man-made destruction for various reasons, Hulan Confucian temple was seriously damaged. Diaoyutai and Shigong temple, both municipal cultural relics protection units, were built by Shide mountain, a northeast warlord, and his descendants. They are local famous scenic spots, less than 600 meters south of the Confucian temple. Today, two buildings have been seriously damaged, the stone tablets in the ancestral hall have been broken, and the Diaoyutai has only broken walls. According to Liu Yuncai, director of Harbin cultural relics management station, Hulan District government has decided to pay for the repair of the Confucian temple. At present, two expert demonstration meetings have been held. Experts believe that the painted cloud dragons on the eaves of the Confucian temple are clearly visible, and the overall structure is still magnificent. Therefore, this repair should be based on the principle of "repair the old as the old". Whether it is wooden or reinforced concrete structure, it should be retained as much as possible without any damage. The whole project is mainly repair. The renovation is expected to be completed in 2011.
