Historical story

During the reign of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, Qian Shutian, a businessman in Cixi, Zhejiang Province, often trafficked silk from Ningbo to Guangzhou. Because he was also a Confucian doctor, he made pills and plasters and gave medicine to the patients along the way. One year, he cured a giant businessman's son with "Huichundan". The giant businessman was grateful to him for saving his son and helped him set up a pharmaceutical factory. In 1790, jingxiutang qianshutian traditional Chinese medicine factory opened in the South Gate of Guangzhou city. It is said that the name of the factory was given by the giant businessman. At the beginning of the factory, Yuantian brand drugs were mainly Huichundan and ruyigao. The products were elaborately processed, with good curative effect and were highly praised. During the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, the business and scale of jingxiutang had developed, and its production technology and management had been improved day by day. In the 160 years from the start-up to the public-private partnership in 1956, jingxiutang has always been a small hand workshop without great development. It was founded in 1790 (the 55th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty). In December 1992, it was restructured into a joint stock limited company and became the first state-owned industrial enterprise in Guangzhou.
