In 1952, the Department of law was merged into East China University of political science and law. In 1979, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Anhui University took the lead in restoring and reconstructing the Department of law among the national local comprehensive universities. In 1928, Anhui University was founded, with a law school, under the jurisdiction of law, economics and other departments.

In 1952, the Department of law of Anhui University was merged into East China University of political science and law.

In 1979, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Anhui University rebuilt the Department of law.

In 1982, it opened a program to recruit postgraduates.

In 1996, the Law School of Anhui University was established.

In 1999, he obtained the qualification of master of law training and the right to grant master of law professional degree.

In 2005, he was authorized to confer a doctorate in the second level discipline of economic law and a master's degree in the first level discipline of law.

In 2006, law major won the first batch of demonstration majors in Anhui Province.

In 2007, the law major was approved by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance.

In 2008, there was a mobile post of postdoctoral in economic law.

In April 2011, it was added as the first level discipline of the right to confer doctor of law degree by the academic degrees Commission of the State Council.
