China Construction Island

Located on the southwest side of Paracel Islands, it is a sand island developed on the reef. Zhongjian island is called Luodao by fishermen because it is famous for producing horseshoe snails. Located in the southernmost part of Paracel Islands, when it was halfway to Spratly Islands, it was also called "halfway". In 1946, China sent warship "Zhongjian" to take over the island, so it was renamed as Zhongjian island. Zhongjian island is a sand island developed on the reef. There are high sand dikes around and depressions in the middle. It is not very obvious and often has water. The water depth is 0.5m. The whole island is not high above sea level, with an average of only 2 meters, slightly round, 1200 meters long and 1000 meters wide. China Construction Island

Zhongjian island is located at the southernmost tip of Paracel Islands in Hainan, China. It is 50 km southwest of Huaguang reef, 90 km from Jinqing island to Yongle Island, and 178 km from Yongxing Island, Xisha. Need for mangroves: the big typhoon in 2009 seriously damaged decades of tree planting achievements, and the two super typhoons in 2013 had greater destructive power on a large area. Moreover, the big wind and waves swept away a large amount of sand, and the island area was seriously reduced. Historical evolution

Hainan fishermen are commonly known as "snails island" (the island is rich in horseshoe snails) or "halfway up" (on the way to Spratly Islands). There are different opinions about its affiliation. Some say it belongs to Yongle islands, some say it is far away from Yongle islands, and it belongs to Xisha isolated islands with East Island and Langhua reef.

In 1947, the government of the Republic of China announced the name of Zhongjian Island (commemorating the Chinese government's acceptance of Paracel Islands's "Zhongjian" warship in 1946).

In the battle of Xisha in 1974, China recaptured the control of Yongle islands in Xisha, which is an important basis for further controlling the isolated islands in Xisha. Zhonqjian Dao is located at 15 degrees 47 'north latitude, 111 degrees 12' east longitude, and an island southwest of Paracel Islands (actually sand bar), 1850 meters long and 800 meters wide, with an area of 1.5 square kilometers. Some say they belong to the southwest end of Yongle islands, while others say they do not.

The biggest disaster of China Construction island is the frequent bad typhoons. The big typhoon in 2009 destroyed many achievements. Zhongjian island is located on a large oval reef, 3.8 km long and 2.2 km wide, covering an area of about 7.5 square kilometers. Home island: in the center of the reef.
