Taroko Park, Taiwan

Initial construction

Taroko Park was formerly known as "sub high Taroko Park", which was established on December 27, 1937 during the Japanese invasion.

In 1945, the park was abolished because of the defeat of Japan.

Renovation and reconstruction

Tailuge Park was established in November 1986. It starts from herrenxikou in the East, ends at xihehuan mountain in the west, reaches south qilai peak in the south, extends to jialiwan mountain in the east along the east edge of North qilai peak, and reaches North Nanhu mountain in the north, spanning Hualien, Nantou and Taichung counties. Taroko Park, which spans Hualien, Nantou and Taichung, is famous for its magnificent and nearly vertical Marble Canyon landscape. Four million years ago, the Philippine Ocean plate collided with the Eurasian plate to form Taiwan. These marbles were eroded and incised by Liwu stream for a long time, and the crust was uplifted and uplifted, forming a nearly vertical U-shaped canyon. There are many huge peaks in the park, ranging from Qingshui to the top of Nanhu mountain, with a drop of 3742 meters, creating a complex plant forest and providing space for wildlife habitat.

Changchun Temple

Changchun Temple "Tai Lu Changchun" is the first scene after entering the gorge. After passing the red iron bridge Changchun bridge, we can see a waterfall in front of Changchun ancestral temple, which divides people into Liwu stream. With the classical ancestral temple building, a picture of landscape garden is vividly presented. The Changchun ancestral temple, located between green mountains and green waters, is built to commemorate the martyrs who built the Zhongheng highway. There are 380 steps of stone ladder winding up behind the temple, commonly known as the TIANTI. After walking about two kilometers from Changchun temple and turning a rock corner, a large straight cliff protrudes in front of you. Under the cliff, Ning'an bridge is 82 meters long, which is the longest single span bridge in the province when it was built. Nearby, there is an immovable Ming king temple, which was built by the Gaoshan people for the purpose of guarding the mountain. Passing tourists often burn incense and pray here. Not long after you go on, you can see a silver white waterfall flowing down from the mountain wall. This is the famous silver belt waterfall. At this point in summer, you suddenly feel that the heat is gone.

Taroko Gorge is a 20 kilometer Grand Canyon between Taroko and Tianxiang in Hualien County, Taiwan.
