Wuhan Institute of Technology

In September 1951, Wuhan accounting secondary technical school was founded.

In May 1953, it was renamed Wuhan finance school.

In August 1954, it was renamed Wuhan grain school.

In December 1956, it was renamed Wuhan grain industry school.

In January 1960, it was renamed Wuhan grain industry college.

In 1961, the school was suspended for one year and resumed in September 1962.

In May 1966, the school teaching work stopped completely.

In November 1970, the school was closed.

In May 1972, the school reopened and changed its name to Hubei grain school.

In 1958, Hubei Agricultural University was founded.

In 1962, Hubei Agricultural University was abolished and transformed into Hubei Agricultural University.

In 1996, it was renamed Hubei general technical engineering school.

Merger development

In August 2000, Wuhan traffic health school was integrated into Wuhan Institute of technology.

In November 2003, Hubei general technical engineering school was integrated into Wuhan Institute of technology.

In April 2013, Wuhan Institute of technology changed its name to Wuhan University of light industry.

 

In September 2014, the school was selected into the first batch of excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan.

 

In January 2018, he was selected as the first-class discipline construction university in Hubei Province. In May, the State Food and materials reserve bureau signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the people's Government of Hubei Province to jointly build Wuhan University of light industry.
