Hong Kong Cemetery, commonly known as happy valley cemetery, is one of the cemeteries in Hong Kong. It is located on Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong Island, opposite to Happy Valley Racecourse, and adjacent to Hindu, Zoroastrian, Catholic and Muslim cemeteries. The site of the cemetery was buried in 1841. The first user was William Brodie, captain of the British warship rattlesnake. It was not officially opened until 1845. It is one of the cemeteries established in the early days of Hong Kong's port opening. In the early years, the burials were British and Japanese, and it was not until 1913 that there were Chinese.
Because most of the people buried in this cemetery are Christians and Westerners, it is also called Hongmao cemetery. Cheddar, the founder of the land, He Dong, the richest man of Chinese at that time, and her fiancee Mai Xiuying, and He Qi, a Chinese member of the Executive Council and the Legislative Council, were all buried in this cemetery.
At present, the cemetery has become a popular location for TV series shooting in Hong Kong.
