Feng Chia University (FCU) is a comprehensive private university located in Taichung City, Taiwan, China. In memory of Qiu Fengjia, the Anti Japanese patriot, its predecessor, Fengjia business college, was founded in 1961. On August 1, 1980, it was officially transformed into a university. Fengjia university aims to become a famous university in the Asia Pacific region with outstanding teaching and breakthrough in research focus. It hopes to be based in Taiwan, cross the Asia Pacific region and take an international view.

Historical evolution
In October 1959, preparations for the school were started. The founders were Mr. Qiu niantai, Xiao Yishan, Yang Lianggong, etc
.
In February 1960, the board of directors of the college was approved for filing.
In March 1960, the board of directors held an inaugural meeting, elected Mr. Xiao Yishan as the chairman of the board of directors, and discussed various procedures for filing a case.
In July 1960, the college was approved to file a case by the order of the education department in Taiwan, and approved the establishment of four departments of civil engineering, water conservancy engineering, accounting and business administration.
In November 1960, the founding ceremony was held, which was personally presided over by President Chen Panling. In the future, it will be the anniversary of the school.
In August 1962, Mr. Gao Renyan took over the post of president of the University. The handover ceremony was held in the conference room of "restoring the Taichung research area of the mainland design and Research Commission" of Taichung Municipal government building. The Taiwan Education Department sent Zhang Zhao to supervise the handover.

In June 1965, the first graduation ceremony was presided over by Chairman Gao. There were 33 graduates from the civil engineering department, 34 from the accounting department, 17 from the water conservancy department and 52 from the business administration department, totaling 136.
In June 1967, the third graduation ceremony of the day ministry and the first graduation ceremony of the night ministry were presided over by President Zhang Xizhe. In May 1969, the 35th Executive Council approved the measures for recruiting transferred students and interning in banks. In the same month, the Taiwan Education Authority approved the establishment of a department of computer science.
In May 1970, the school song was written by Professor Huang Chunren and composed by famous musician Huang Youdi. It was determined in the 97th meeting of the hospital affairs. It has been adopted since 1970.
In November 1971, the 10th anniversary of the founding of the University and the opening ceremony of the school sports meeting and the ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of the new library were presided over by President Zhang Xizhe.
In May 1972, the university approved the establishment of a textile research institute

In June 1973, the school held a handover ceremony between the new and old presidents at the Yule hall. President Zhang Xizhe retired and Mr. Liao Yingming took over the post.
In September 1973, the college signed a contract with IBM Corporation of the United States at Hilton Hotel in Taipei city to install a new computer system, which was signed by Liao Yingming, President of the college, and Sun Xiang, acting general manager of IBM Taiwan Corporation.
In June 1974, the graduation ceremony of the first master's degree program, day department and night department was presided over by Chairman Gao Renyan.
In August 1975, the library was originally subordinate to the academic affairs office, and was upgraded to a first-class unit in August 1975, directly under the president

In June 1976, the University signed an academic exchange and cooperation agreement with the University of California. The chairman of Gaoxin and the president of the University of California, Mr. Hearn, held a signing ceremony in the university service administration building of Canada.
In July 1977, in order to strengthen teaching, research department, engineering department and business department were set up respectively. Professor Lin Zonghua and director of research department, Professor Yang xuezhou and director of Engineering Department, and Professor Lu Zhiwei and director of business department were employed.

In May 1978, the Institute of textile engineering approved the establishment of a doctoral program in the Institute of textile engineering on the basis of the letter No. 11819 (issued in 1978) from the Taiwan Higher Education Department

In June 1980, the reform of Fengjia University was officially implemented, and the fresh graduates received the university diploma.
In August 1980, the University was restructured into five faculties: Research Institute, Engineering Institute, business institute, Management Institute and Science Institute.
In September 1982, the results of the evaluation of business school, the competent department of education in Taiwan, were published. The school was listed as one of the top three public and private universities.
In August 1987, Professor Yang Junzhong took over the post of vice president.
In August 1988, the handover ceremony of the new and old presidents was held in the auditorium of Yule hall. Under the supervision of chairman Gao Xin, President Liao Yingming handed over the seal, which symbolized the important responsibility, to the new president, Dr. Yang Junzhong.
In May 1994, the 1993 academic year grant of the mid-range school affairs development plan of a private university was approved by the education authorities in Taiwan. The University won more than 44 million yuan in grants, ranking second among all private universities in Taiwan.
