Basic introduction
Facing the "Dazhong Zhizheng" archway on Zhongshan South Road, it is 30 meters high and 80 meters wide, 470 meters away from the center line of the memorial hall. On the afternoon of December 7, 2007, before Chen Shui Bian, the ruling Taiwan leader of the Democratic Progressive Party, was about to step down, he changed the four big words of "Dazhong Zhizheng" on the memorial archway of Zhongzheng square into "Freedom Square", and the "Zhongzheng Memorial Hall" beside the square was also changed into "Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall".
On the morning of July 20, 2009, the Taiwan authorities re hung the plaque of the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. Zhongzheng memorial hall was renamed.
