The existing pagoda is no longer the original one. At present, the tower has 5 floors and 8 sides, 23 meters high and hollow. The top of the tower is sharp and the bottom is wide. The tower is reduced layer by layer. The eaves and corners of the tower are protruding, and the wood like bucket arch structure is built with bricks. The tower has been eroded by wind and rain, and is slightly inclined, showing the vicissitudes. There is a tower on it, which is named Huangshan tower because of the mountain. Since ancient times, Dangtu has been popular: "although Dangtu is small, there are three towers and two floating bridges.". "Three Pagodas" refer to the Lingyun Pagoda in the east of the city, the Jinzhu Pagoda in the west of the city and the Huangshan Pagoda in the north of the city. In the early Qing Dynasty, there was a sketch of "Three Pagodas" as the symbol of Taiping mansion in the record of Dutch envoys to China by nehoff, a member of the Dutch mission to China. The three pagodas were all five story cornices, standing in the suburbs of Dangtu. Among the three towers, Lingyun tower collapsed in 1911 due to a storm. Now there are two pagodas, Huangshan and Jinzhu. Jinzhu pagoda was built in the 17th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, which is well recorded in history. When the Huangshan tower was built is different. In the 14th year of Tianbao (755), Li Bai once went to Huangshan to send his younger brother to Huayin, and wrote a poem "going to Huangshan to lingjuotai to send his younger brother Liyang weijichong to Huayin by boat". The poem says: "send you to Mount Huangshan, whistling in accordance with the ladder", the ladder is Huangshan tower, it can be seen that this tower was built in the Tang Dynasty. "Taiping Fu Zhi" records: "there are old song Li palace, lingjuotai, huaigu platform, Shiqing hall and floating pictures on the mountain. Lingjuotai is at the top of the mountain. There is a stone like case in the southeast. It can be five feet high. The top is flat and round, and the diameter is about five feet. It is said that Liu Yu is a summer resort

Huangshan tower
Huangshan tower is named because it was built on the top of Huangshan Mountain. The tower, 26 meters high, is a masonry structure. The pagoda is octagonal in shape, with lotus petals on the eaves and five floors. Each floor has four arches. The pagoda is hollow, 2 meters square, 17.6 meters at the bottom, and 1.8 meters thick at the base. It is said that it was built by Liu Yu, Emperor Wu of Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty. Li Baideng's poem to send his family members to Huangshan has a saying of "long roaring ladder to heaven". It can be seen that the pagoda has a long history. During the reign of Kangxi and Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, it was repaired twice. In 1984, the county people's government allocated funds to reinforce and repair the bottom of the tower, which is now a key cultural relics protection unit in Anhui Province.
Ling xiaotai
Lingjuotai, also known as lingjuotai, is located in the south of Huangshan tower. Liu Jun, Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty, built a summer palace on it. The ancient lingjuotai is magnificent and towering above the dust. It has the "victory of Sheng Yong and Dai Lu". From the poems of the poets of past dynasties, we can see the majestic appearance of lingjuotai, which are "Song Zu lingjuotai music is not in the center, three thousand songs and dances stay on the terrace" and "the son of the Song family travels in the south, three thousand red fans are hundred feet". It is not known when Ling juotai was abandoned. Li Bai said in his poem "ten chants of Gushu: lingjuotai" that "idle clouds enter the window, and wild green trees give birth to pines and bamboos". It can be seen that there were still taiguan at that time. Gu Yanwu of Ming Dynasty wrote in Zhaoyu annals: "lingjuotai is on the top of the mountain. There is a stone like a case. It is five feet high. The top is flat and round, and the diameter is about five feet.". Today, there are three stone inscriptions on the right side of the stone. The handwriting is indistinct. They are the poems written by Ni Bo Ao and others in Ming Dynasty. Once upon a time, Lingxi was one of the eight scenic spots in Gushu.

The ninth year of kaihuang in Sui Dynasty
In the ninth year of kaihuang (589), the Sui Dynasty unified the whole country. Dangtu County, which was established by overseas Chinese, settled in Gushu, and Dangtu County was officially established. According to Taiping Fu Zhi, Huangshan pagoda was more than 100 years earlier than Dangtu County. "Poor Huangshan tower, standing out in the dusk, still ten years ago, watching me travel thousands of miles.". It can be said that the Huangshan tower, standing on the top of Huangshan Mountain, is like an old man who has gone through many vicissitudes and witnessed the ups and downs of Dangtu for more than a thousand years.
The history of a place is the common wealth of the place and the unique embodiment of its humanistic culture. Because of the long history of Dangtu, Huangshan pagoda has the special significance of "it's related to the people of a county". In the past dynasties, people took good care of it and repaired it many times, which made the tower stand up to now. According to textual research, the Huangshan pagoda now bears the architectural features of the Song Dynasty, the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China. The first to third floors are the original objects of the Song Dynasty, the waist eaves are from the Republic of China, and the fourth to fifth floors are from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Because see "only for thousands of years, the years move, the tower this side, a column, swaying in the residual wind and rain, precarious situation Mo Kebao." So he took the lead in donating salaries and mobilized the people to donate money to build the pagoda. "For a while, those who linger in righteousness are eager to help, and they will finish in a few months. The wings are perfect and good, and the Gong is strong. After the completion of the pagoda, Zhu Zeng wrote a record of rebuilding the Huangshan pagoda, which recorded in detail the purpose and process of building the pagoda. It is the spring of the 35th year of Kangxi.
Guangxu period
During the reign of Guangxu, the Republic of China and after liberation, the tower was repaired many times. In 1984, Dangtu County government allocated funds to reinforce the ground floor. In 1986, Huangshan pagoda was approved by the provincial government as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. In 2003, Anhui Province, Ma'anshan City and Dangtu County jointly invested more than one million yuan to repair Huangshan tower again, which was completed in October 2005. The newly built Huangshan pagoda is still a pavilion style brick and wood structure, 27 meters high. It has five stories on the outside and nine stories on the inside. It is octagonal in plane and staggered in four sides on the inside. Its unique internal structure is an isolated example of the ancient pagodas inside and outside the province so far.
Under the wind and smoke of history, many historic sites have been obliterated. However, Huangshan tower still stands on the top of Huangshan Mountain, overlooking the land of Jiangdong at its feet. It continues the historical footprints of our ancestors and becomes the cultural symbol of the regional history at this time.
