Leng Yuqiu's former residence is a single courtyard house. The main building is a two-story building with North Dynasty, South, middle and West. It was built in the early 1920s. It is located in Huangxu town of Dantu. Leng Yuqiu, born in Huangxu town of Dantu, was admitted to Anhui Military Academy in 1902. He joined the alliance in 1906 and engaged in anti Qing revolutionary activities with Zhao Sheng and others. On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising broke out, and as a leader of the Guangxi People's army, he went out to assist Hubei in the northern expedition. In January 1912, the provisional president Sun Yat Sen awarded him the rank of lieutenant general and the medal of Wenhu, and appointed him the commander of the third division of the first army of the Republic of China. Later, he served as the chief of staff of Anhui governor's office and the commander of the ninth division. In 1913, the ninth division was reorganized into the first division of Jiangsu army. He served as division commander and stationed in Xuzhou. In 1913, he was appointed director of the Senate of the military academy. Later, he took part in Dr. Sun Yat Sen's law protection movement and served as the general counsellor and acting interior minister of the military government. After the failure of the national defense movement, he returned to Dantu to engage in industry and founded Yongan silkworm breeding farm. On July 1, 1945, he went to Yan'an with Huang Yanpei and six other democratic personages. At the airport, he was warmly welcomed by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and other CPC Leaders and discussed major issues with them. During the war of liberation, he took advantage of his position as the provincial temporary councilor to rescue the underground party, the New Fourth Army and the revolutionary masses. Nearly 100 people were rescued. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he participated in the first session of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the founding ceremony. He was a deputy to the first National People's Congress (NPC) and a member of the CPPCC National Committee. He served successively as a military and political commissar of East China, Minister of water resources of East China, vice governor of Jiangsu Province, and vice chairman of the CPPCC Provincial Committee. In order to commemorate his life story, his former residence was rebuilt into lengyuqiu Memorial Hall in 2002.

Introduction of former residence
Leng Yuqiu's former residence is located in Huangxu Town, Dantu County, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Its former residence was built in the early Republic of China (the early 1920s). It is a single courtyard house. The main building is a two-story building with north facing south, middle and West. It is of brick and wood structure, with 5 rooms wide (with 2 corridors to the back door) and covers an area of about 180 square meters. It is located in Huangxu Town, Dantu, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province.
The East and West ends of the building protrude, and the top is two brick columns sandwiched with arc-shaped walls. It is concave in the middle. There are corridors on the upper and lower floors. There are stairs on both sides. The forehead of the passageway is arched, and each room is equipped with high straight windows. The second window on the back of the building has a balcony extending out. The interior is made of wood floor, plastered with lime and covered with small tiles. There is a tiger window in the center. The whole building is solemn and simple.
In order to commemorate Leng Yuqiu's life story, his former residence was rebuilt into Leng Yuqiu Memorial Hall in 2002.

Leng Li, whose name is Yuqiu (1882-1959), was born in Huangxu of Dantu, a famous democratic revolutionist.
