brief introduction
Taifo hall is located at the foot of the mountain opposite Huiru park on Dongshan Road. The gate of taifo hall "Kaiyuan Temple taifo hall" was written by Zhao Puchu, former president of China Buddhist Association. Temples in Thailand have the reputation of the Thai Museum of art. The building built in Chaozhou, a famous city, which imitates Thailand's Yunshi temple, is full of Thai characteristics. The multi-faceted roof with double eaves is decorated with fish scale tiles, and the eaves board is decorated with upward yellow graphics. The angle of the column head is auspicious. The decoration of gables and the sharp shape of doors and windows concentrate the ancient Thai plastic arts, fully reflecting the majestic and exquisite It's very exotic. For Chaozhou people, they can enjoy the exotic charm without going abroad; for Chaozhou people living in Thailand, they are more interesting.
structure
Taifo hall sits in the north and south, covering an area of more than 60000 square meters, surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery. With a total construction area of about 2000 square meters, there are Shanmen stele square, main hall, office, relic tower, East Pavilion, West Pavilion (reception hall), Wangjiang tower, Baita bell tower, Drum Tower, Guanzhou Pavilion, two release pools, monk's house, supporting pavilions, large-scale man-made stone landscape stele, Huiguang stone, as well as Mr. Xie Huiru's tomb tower and dingran monk's tower. The hall is elegant and simple, with a unique style of exotic Buddhism, which is rare in China.
The main hall has a total height of 19 meters and a construction area of 490 square meters. The wall is white, the corner and the top of the window are sharp, the tiles are like fish scales and dyed blue or yellow, and the top of the eaves is equipped with a yellow decorative pattern supporting to the sky, which is novel and spectacular. The interior decoration is solemn. There is an exquisite mural "the story of the Buddha", but it is not the usual three Tathagata in China or the three saints in the West. There is only a large bronze statue of Buddha with a lotus seat, which is more than 3 meters high and weighs 1.5 tons. The East Hall is dedicated to a statue of Dharma protector (namely four Buddha). This dharma protector, the great Brahma, was originally the God of creation of Brahmanism and Hinduism.
There are four Buddhas on the east side. In Thailand, four Buddhas are gods, not Buddhas. They are Brahma, one of the three great gods of ancient Brahmanism, which means "great Brahma". Chinese in Thailand are used to call them "four Buddhas". "Great Brahma" means the creator of the five things in the world. It is said that one of the original five heads was destroyed by Shiva, and the remaining four heads are facing the four directions. The four hands hold Vedic scriptures, lotus, spoon, rosary beads or bowls. When offering incense to the four Buddhas, they should offer incense in all directions, East, West, North and south, and worship them clockwise. The four Buddhas represent benevolence, compassion, auspiciousness and charity.
There are "Wangjiang tower", "Wangzhou Pavilion" and "pagoda" on the hillside of taifo hall, with one bell and one drum hanging on each hill. The Thai Buddha Hall is a symbol of friendship between the Chinese and Thai people and a symbol of cultural exchanges between China and Thailand.
This unique Buddhist resort is often visited by Chinese and foreign pilgrims and tourists. In the summer of 1998, Xie Fei, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Visit the temple. greatly.
Buddha statue
The center of the hall is dedicated to the Thai style Sakyamuni Buddha, which is called the qingla Buddha. The costume of the hair on the top is very different from that of the Han Dynasty Sakyamuni Buddha in Kaiyuan Temple. It is a spiral flame costume. This 3-meter-high, 1.5-ton bronze Buddha with gold foil on its surface is called the Golden Buddha. The wall is surrounded by a picture of "the story of Buddha", mainly about the birth of Sakyamuni Buddha, the process of becoming Buddha and nirvana.
