Luocheng ancient town

--Luocheng ancient town was built in the Ming Dynasty. Its architectural layout is extremely unique. The whole town is located on the top of the mountain. The street houses are like a boat. The main street of the ancient town, Liangting street, is commonly known as "boat shaped Street".

--Up to now, the surviving old street still retains some of the cultural features of Sichuan in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and lives together with seven ethnic groups, namely Han, Hui, Yi, man, Zang, Li and Miao.

Luocheng ancient town

Luocheng ancient town is known as "China's Noah Ark". Luocheng ancient town is located in the northeast of Qianwei County, 60km away from Leshan City and 25km away from Qianwei county. There are seven nationalities, Han, Hui, Yi, man, Zang, Li and Miao. Liangting street, the main street of the ancient town, is commonly known as "boat shaped Street". It was built in 1628, the first year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty. Today, the old street still retains some of the cultural features of Sichuan in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

In 1982, Australians built a "China city" in Melbourne, and Luocheng ancient town became famous overseas. In 2001, UNESCO officials called it "China's Noah's Ark"; in 1992, Luocheng town was selected as "provincial famous historical and cultural town"; in June 2007, the ancient town "Liangting Street" became a provincial cultural relics protection unit; in January 2010, it was selected as the first batch of "historical and cultural streets" in Sichuan Province; in January 2018, Luocheng town was rated as national AAAA scenic spot.

History of scenic spots

Luocheng ancient town was built in the late Ming Dynasty (1628 AD) and took shape in the Qing Dynasty. Luocheng ancient town is located in the border area and used to be an important military place. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the "military shop" for stationing troops to control foreigners (southwest minorities), so it is called "luochengpu". Yingpanshan in the west of the town was the place of stationing troops at that time.

In 1986, Chuanxing street was declared as a cultural relic protection unit by Leshan Municipal government.

In 1992, it was approved as "provincial famous historical and cultural town" by Sichuan Provincial People's government.

In 2007, Chuanxing street was declared as a provincial cultural relic protection unit by Sichuan Provincial People's government.

In January 2010, Chuanxing street was rated as one of the first batch of "famous historical and cultural streets" in Sichuan Province.

In January 2018, Luocheng ancient town was rated as a national AAAA scenic spot.

Architectural features

Mosaic buildings block the old streets of Luocheng, and the streets paved with bluestone slabs in the records have already become concrete roads. Liangting street is the center of Luocheng in the old times. It is called "boat shaped Street" by local people. It is 209 meters long and 9.5 meters wide. It looks like a big boat or a huge wooden shuttle. It is described by many people as "a masterpiece of Sichuan culture".

It is said that this old street full of the beauty of twilight is the only boat shaped street in China. On both sides of the boat shaped Street are long rows of old tile houses with wooden structure. For hundreds of years, people in Luocheng have enjoyed the happiness of the world by drinking, eating meat, drinking tea, listening to songs, picking out ears, smoking leaves and selling dog skin plaster in this "cool hall" which is not afraid of rain and sun. Under "liangtingzi", there used to be some time-honored shops, such as sanyuanhao, Fengtai, hengyouheng, sinangtang, Changqingyuan, which have disappeared without trace. Instead, there are various clothing shops, snack shops, department stores, grocery stores, hardware shops, barber shops, funeral goods shops, hotels, teahouses, martial arts schools, shoe shops, photo studios, singing halls, clinics, among which the number of teahouses is the largest .

The ancient town is located in Luocheng town in the northeast of Qianwei County, 25 kilometers away from Qianwei county and 60 kilometers away from Leshan City. Origin of town name

There are many legends and anecdotes about the origin of Luocheng town. There are two popular versions. The first is: at the end of Ming Dynasty, there were two huts under a big banyan tree. The owner's surname was ou, which provided a place for nearby farmers to sell or exchange cattle. It was called "Tiaoshi". Later, the bull market continued to develop, the exchange of goods expanded to salt, iron, cloth, rice, oil and so on. So the people of the surname Ou built a few more houses, opened inns and drink shops, and formed a "Yaodian". Not long after that, people surnamed Yang in Yangjiawan, not far from here, thought that the place was the territory of the Yang family and wanted to join the market. However, people surnamed Ou refused and the two sides argued. Since then, people surnamed ou feel that this market should be named, which is different from Yangjiawan. According to the fact that these businessmen came from the southeast and northwest, the southeast and Northwest were called "four dimensions" in ancient times, and the four dimensions were combined into "Luo". In order to attract visitors from all over the world and achieve the purpose and desire of flourishing the market. What about the word "city"? Because the peasants were called "natives" in the Ming Dynasty, the market was built by their hard work. Therefore, it is named "Luocheng".

The second is that it was named in memory of Luo Cheng, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty. According to research, there is a "Luocheng Temple" two miles southeast of Luocheng Town, and there are still relics. It is said that after Luo Cheng died, his descendants fled to Sichuan and settled here to build this temple to sacrifice their ancestors. However, there are many doubts about this view: first, Luo Cheng lived in Sichuan Province and lived in the future; second, the people surnamed Luo who built the temple could not prove that they were the descendants of Luo Cheng; third, there has never been any activity commemorating Luo Cheng in Luocheng town since it was recorded.

The ancient town is a place where Hui people live together. The production of halal beef series has a history of more than 200 years, such as dry beef, golden silk beef, Dengying Beef, spicy beef, etc. it has a long-standing reputation, fine workmanship, complete color, aroma and taste, and endless aftertaste. In addition, the traditional famous food in the ancient town includes "three big guns", "iron cake", "wine rice", "ye'erba", "mutton soup" and "KaKa", all of which have their own characteristics and long taste.

Famous ancient town

Due to the propaganda and report of the news media, Luocheng ancient town has been well-known at home and abroad. The film and TV crew of legend of Hayden, rice, robber's daughter, Sichuan teahouse and stepmother of true love came here to shoot, which aroused great interest of tourists. CCTV's "China on the tip of the tongue" and "journey to China at 30 degrees north latitude" also came to the ancient town to shoot. The protection, development and utilization of the ancient town has been put on the agenda of the municipal and county governments. We are working out careful planning and development goals, implementing policies and measures, and speeding up the pace of construction. It is believed that in the near future, a well preserved and unique ancient town of Luocheng will be displayed to visitors.

Shostakovich once said: "many things are old and gone in front of our eyes, but I think many things that seem to have changed will appear new, powerful and eternal in the end.". Nowadays, most people living in Sichuan do not realize that it is the old boat shaped street that represents Sichuan culture in front of the world, rather than Chengdu, which is full of new construction.

At the Guangzhou international trade exchange conference in 1983, Southwest Architectural Design Institute of Sichuan Province exhibited a picture of "boat shaped Street" in Luocheng from the sky. As a result, the picture was selected by Australian participants in the bidding, and the two sides initialed the agreement in April of that year. Soon after, Chinatown Co., Ltd. of Australia, which is composed of investors from eight countries and regions including Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong, began to invest in the construction of Chinatown in Locke, 24 kilometers away from Melbourne, Australia. The city covers an area of 9 hectares with a construction area of about 30000 square meters. UNESCO officials also visited Luocheng. At shiyangchang passenger station in the southern suburb of Chengdu, there are several buses to Luocheng every day.

Boat shaped ancient street

Luocheng ancient town is located on the top of an oval hill. The main street is a boat shaped structure. It is long from east to west and short from north to south. It looks like a weaving shuttle, so some people call it "a shuttle in the cloud". Looking down from a height, it looks like a big boat lying on the top of the mountain. The street is the bottom of the boat, the buildings on both sides are the sides of the boat, the theater in the middle is the cabin, the Lingguan temple at the east end is like the stern awning of the boat, the sky lamp stone column at the west end is like the pole of the boat, and the 22 meter long street crossing (existing) on the right side of the Lingguan temple is like the rudder of the boat. If you look up from a distance, you will see this magnificent, strange and unique ship chopping the waves and setting sail. Therefore, Luocheng has won another reputation: "a ship on the top of the mountain." It is called "boat shaped Street" by local people. About the origin of the 209 meter long and 9.5 meter wide ship, there is a local legend: in the Chongzhen period of the late Ming Dynasty, Zhang Xiucai, a stranger, came here to drink tea in a teahouse. When he saw the tea guests sighing one by one and drinking all the water in the teacup, he asked an old man next door why. The old man sighed and said, "this town is short of water!" Zhang Xiucai was silent for a long time and read four words
