Mingxiu Garden

The earliest existing private garden in Nanning is Mingxiu garden, which is located in Mengjiatun, one kilometer west of Wuming county. Surrounded by Wuming River, which flows through the county town in the East, South and West, it is about half a mile long and a gourd shaped Peninsula, covering an area of about 30000 square meters. In the garden, the ancient trees are towering, the rocks are jagged, the paths are vertical and horizontal, the courtyards and pavilions match each other, the environment is quiet and the climate is fresh. In the garden, there are towering ancient trees, towering rocks, vertical and horizontal paths, pavilions and pavilions, quiet environment and fresh climate. On the right side of the river, there is a hundred year old litchi forest, under which there are stone benches for tourists to rest. On the left side of the river bank, the lotus tube pavilion was rebuilt, and then the Zhi pavilion was rebuilt to watch the lotus blossom and the goldfish playing in the water. Dongtian Pavilion stands on the rock, with hexagonal wood structure, cornices and spires, and green leaves. Climbing on the rock arch, looking at the fence, river jade belt, green trees, row upon row of buildings, a school of southern scenery. In the early years of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, Liang Shengqi, a rural official in the western suburb of the county, invested his sons Liang Yuanluo and Liang Yuanna to open up and build a private orchard here, known as "Fuchun garden". Liang brothers planted fruit in the garden, and built a chanlou and a Tonghua hall respectively. In 1919, Lu Rongting, a tour envoy of Guangdong and Guangxi and a general of Yaowu, bought Liang's Fuchun garden for 3000 yuan. At that time, Lu Rongting bought it in the name of his uncle Lu Mingxiu, so he changed the garden into "Mingxiu garden". The existing entrance gate, lotus Pavilion, lotus pond and some stone benches were built in 1920s and 1930s. In 1988, Mingxiu garden was listed as Nanning county (city) level cultural relics protection unit. In the early period of the Republic of China, Hu Hanmin, Zhang Taiyan and other Kuomintang officials and Liang Qichao and others went to the garden to discuss yuan's affairs with Lu Rongting. In 1938, during the Kunlunguan campaign, it became the Anti Japanese headquarters of the 18th group army of the national government. During the Anti Japanese War, Bai Chongxi set up the general headquarters of the 16th group army of the national government in the park. In the early days of liberation, an expert group led by Professor Yuan Jiahua of Peking University created Pinyin Zhuang characters in the park and became the office of creating Zhuang characters. The Zhuang characters were born in Mingxiu park. Zhu De and Guo Moruo visited Wuming. Mingxiu garden is one of the three famous gardens in Guangxi. Chunxia garden, Qiuxia garden and Mingxiu garden are facing each other across the river, forming a triangle. They have become a tourist area integrating vacation, tourism, folk culture and entertainment.

Mingxiu Garden

Mingxiu garden is the private courtyard of Lu Rongting, the leader of the old GUI warlord. It is located in the west of huantun, Lingyuan village, Chengxiang Town, the western suburb of Wuming county. It covers an area of 42 Mu and is shaped like a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. In 1919, Lu Rongting, the inspector of Guangdong and Guangxi, bought the garden from the grandson of Yuanna (the founder) in tunliang County, and changed the name of the garden to "Mingxiu garden" in the name of his uncle Lu Mingxiu. Chunxia garden, Qiuxia Garden (also known as Qiuxia garden) and Mingxiu garden are all distributed in the western suburb of Wuming County on both sides of Xijiang River. Chunxia garden and Mingxiu garden are separated by a river and connected by a cable bridge.

In 1921, when the Guangdong Guangxi war broke out, most of the buildings in Mingxiu garden were burned by the Guangdong army. In 1934, Liang Hansong, the commander of Nanning militia stationed in Wuming, repaired the building and gate of the garden, and re titled "Mingxiu garden". In the park, there are gate, wall, stone board road, two pavilions, stone tables and benches built by Lu Rongting, and lotus pond excavated.

Mingxiu garden used to be a place for Lu Rongting's officers and soldiers to recuperate. It was also one of the important places for Lu Rongting to discuss affairs. In the early period of the Republic of China, Hu Hanmin, Zhang Taiyan and other Kuomintang officials and Liang Qichao went to Mingxiu garden to discuss with Lu Rongting the event of attacking Yuan Shikai. Lu Rongting was the leader of the old GUI warlord. His legendary life is still the talk of people in their spare time. His merits and demerits are still the topic of debate among experts and scholars. Mingxiu garden is an important material basis for studying the legendary life of the old GUI clan and Lu Rongting.
