Construction scale
Wenqitang is located in the north and faces south. The existing sedan hall, hall and East and West hatchback rooms cover an area of about 650 square meters. The sedan hall is 12 meters wide with two falling wings and 6.5 meters deep. The wooden column foundation and wooden beam frame are round and flat. This practice is only an isolated one in Suzhou. "Seven Zhu and eight Bai" are engraved on the inner forehead Fang. The roof slope is gentle. The overall form and architectural style fully reflect the architectural characteristics of Ming Dynasty. The sedan hall was decorated with brick doors, and its two wings were pasted with bricks, opposite to the hall. The gate tower and the lower part of the brick wall are all made of blue stone xumizuo style. The carving is concise and fine. The waist patterns include winding branches and grass, double lions playing ball and so on. The lower part of the gate tower and brick wall has a GUI foot. The lines are soft and have high artistic value. The brick gate tower is double-sided, which is rare in Suzhou. The overall carving process is excellent. Roof eaves, Dougong production, carving techniques all have Ming Dynasty style characteristics, but the status quo is seriously dilapidated. The sedan hall, the gate tower and the polished brick wall are all the original structures of the Ming Dynasty. The structure of the hall is flat for lifting beam, and the materials of the Dougong beams and fangs are strong. Although the hall was overhauled and changed in Qing Dynasty, its structure still has the style of Ming Dynasty. There was a plaque of "Wen Qi Tang" in the hall.
Wenqitang was originally a three entrance hall, which was demolished before liberation. In 1993, Ganjiang road was widened, the two cars in front of the car hall were demolished with approval, and the patio was reduced.
