Coconut Grand View Garden

Coconut Grand View Garden is a reconstruction of the original coconut Germplasm Resource Bank of the coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences of the Ministry of agriculture. It is located in Wenchang City, Hainan Province, the "hometown of coconuts" in China, adjacent to the coconut forest in the eastern suburb of the famous scenic spot in Hainan. Founded in 1980, the park covers an area of 54.4 hectares. It is an ecological scenic spot with rich coconut culture characteristics, with coconut forest as the main background, integrating scientific research, popular science education, tourism, leisure and entertainment.

There are more than 200 kinds of palm plants, 130 kinds of Hainan characteristic tree species and 17 kinds of coconut varieties from all over the world in the park, which is the botanical park with the most preserved palm plant varieties in China at present. The food culture, product culture, historical culture and spiritual culture of coconut are mainly displayed. The park is divided into seven functional areas: interpretation center area, coconut forest viewing area, palm viewing area, gardening viewing area, lakeside leisure area, product development area and science and technology research and development area. In the park, the coconut trees are lush, the flowers are luxuriant, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant. It is refreshing and enjoyable to be on the scene.

Car: starting from Haikou City, you can get to coconut Grand View Garden by driving about 60 kilometers along the coastal Wen expressway.

Train: Wenchang station of Hainan East Ring Railway (about 19 yuan, second-class seat). After getting off, take the No.6 city bus and get off at Xinhua Bookstore station (2 yuan). Take the bus "bus station gaolongwan special line" across the road and get off at the Local Taxation Bureau Station (3 yuan).

Backpack Guide:

There are four routes in Wenchang City passing through coconut Grand View Garden. The bus routes you can choose are Wenchang gaolongwan and Wenchang Qinglan;

Wenchang Dongjiao, Wenchang jianhuashan (Note: these two buses have not passed Daguanyuan).
