Central position

The third anniversary of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. On the 29th, a large sculpture made by Italian designers in 2010 - "stone playing music" came to China for the first time for exhibition, and "settle down" at the original site of Shanghai World Expo.

Over the past century, Italy has a profound tradition of hosting World Expos. After the closing of the Shanghai World Expo, Italy announced that it would donate the original Italian Pavilion to the Shanghai municipal government. The reconstructed Shanghai Italy center was reopened in April 2012, becoming an important place for cultural exchanges between China and Italy. As an important part of the latest exhibition "originality, creativity, life, the true meaning of materials" in the Italian center of Shanghai, the "stone that can play music" is coming to China to show the exquisite stone carving technology of Italy. "Playing stone" covers an area of about 1 square meter and is a huge limestone from Sardinia. After being polished and cut by the designer, the surface of the stone presents a strip-shaped irregular texture, just like a giant stone comb placed in the sky. If people gently scrape the "stone that can play music" with another piece of limestone, they can immediately hear the pleasant notes, which are similar to the chime in ancient China.

According to curator Alexander Colombo, "stone that can play music" is the work of designer Pinocchio sholey. Its principle is to use the elasticity of stone itself and guide it to vibrate and sound through ingenious grinding and cutting technology. As part of the new exhibition of Shanghai Italy center, "stones that can play music" will be exhibited in China for two years. In addition to this "mysterious stone", Chinese visitors can also enjoy such novel exhibits as "dazzling wood" and "magic material" originated from the creative idea of Milan triennial.

By 2015, when the "playing stone" returns to his hometown Italy, it will coincide with the opening of the 2015 World Expo in Milan, Italy. This will be another Comprehensive world expo in the world after the Shanghai World Expo.

Opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of Shanghai Italy Center (formerly Italy World Expo) was held in Shanghai. Yang Xiong, vice mayor of Shanghai, crini, Minister of environment of Italy, Piero, vice president of Ferrari, and ballio, vice president of Milan triennial, attended the ceremony.

The Ferrari sports car, Bvlgari jewelry and Michelangelo sculpture, which opened yesterday in Italy, Shanghai, concentrated the essence of Italy culture and commerce. Yang Xiong said in his speech that the Italian Pavilion, as a special gift from the Italian government to the Chinese people, will inherit the spirit of the Expo and play an important role in promoting the friendly cooperation between China and Italy to a new level.

In his speech, clini said that the Italian Pavilion is a carrier of profound friendship between China and Italy. It will become another window to display and promote the essence of Italy and another bridge to strengthen cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries.
