Brief introduction to temples
Tanggu Township, Linzhou County, 240 kilometers north of Lhasa, is the site of Rezhen temple, a famous temple in Lhasa. It was founded in 1056 and has a history of more than 900 years.
Rezhen temple is the first temple of the gadang sect of Tibetan Buddhism, which is now a Gelug Sect temple. The residence of the seventh Rezhen · luozhui Jiacuo chilelunzhu living Buddha is next to the Rezhen temple. Rezhen temple has always had the tradition of loving the country and religion. They take protecting the territory as their own duty and commit crimes against the Chinese people. Although they are far away, they have a firm belief in protecting the country and protecting the religion. The living Buddha of Rezhen has made important contributions to maintaining the unity of the motherland and strengthening national unity.
Surrounding scenic spots
On the west side of Rezhen temple, there is a famous "papandang", which is called "holy way" by monks and customs. "Papang" means huge stone, "Dang" means lawn or dam. The main Buddha worshipped in Rezhen temple is "descending baiduoji" (Miaoji Vajra). According to Tibetan Folklore, on July 15 of the year of the sheep, 100000 heavenly daughters, such as tanini, kazhuma, and sangvayixi, come to the earth, and all the goddesses set up altars here to surpass all living beings. Therefore, this traditional festival has been formed in history. On this day, faithful men and women from all over the world gathered on this beautiful rock grassland from afar, offering various offerings, chanting sutras and incantations, praying for peace and prosperity, prosperity of all undertakings and perfection of merit.
festival activities
At first, it was just a pure religious activity. Later, it gradually developed into a comprehensive festival for farmers and herdsmen to exchange various commodities and carry out cultural and recreational activities in addition to religious activities. By then, it will be like a world of tents, with all kinds of goods and bustling people, adding to the festival atmosphere.
Every year, July 15 of the Tibetan calendar is the most wonderful and grand day of the "papang dangkuo Festival". The "horse racing" and "gun youth" activities in the morning were exciting. The racecourse is on the north side of Panshi grassland. Before the race, the riders have to drive their horses around the simmer mulberry fireworks for a few turns to make good luck. According to the traditional practice, there must be a white horse among the horses and a white dress for the riders. In the competition, the rider and white horse in white clothes must reach the finish line first to show good luck. There are two long walls of onlookers on the racecourse. Whenever the riders in all kinds of clothes and pointed hats wave whips and rush past, they will cause bursts of exclamations and shouts. At the end of the race, the eminent monks of Rezhen Temple present prizes and hada to the winners.
At 12:30 at noon, it is said that 100000 goddesses headed by tanini, the mother of Kongxing, set up the altar of "Rezhen pabang" and began to hold sacrificial ceremonies to serve the guru chanting scriptures. In front of the tent of the chanting lamas, there is a stone altar for sacrifice, which is called "CuO". "CuO" is roughly trapezoidal, the surface is decorated with butter flowers to form lace, and the middle part is reincarnation. In front of the design, there is a skinned sheep. "CuO" is red, with rows of "DOMA" Zanba groups on it. Around the "CuO" are all kinds of offerings offered by believers, and the elaborate "CuO" attracts monks and believers. The lamas of Rezhen Temple recite the Sutra of shangshigong in the tent. The people outside the account are anxiously waiting to share even a little of the offering, and they will be lucky. After the Lama chanted the Scriptures, people flocked to the site, and those who got "CuO" were happy. They also took it home for relatives and friends to share. In an instant, piles of offerings "CuO" disappeared.
In the afternoon, it is the climax of the "rejuvenated papondangko" Festival - "Qiangmu", that is, Tiaoshen. Tiaoshen is a very old and unique art in Tibetan traditional culture. The wonderful imagination and moving plot have attracted generations of monks and common people. Tiaoshen in Rezhen temple is one of the four offerings of gadang school, which is the creation of the yogi "AMI qiangjiurenqing". It is said that originally there was only one form of jumping. In the 20th year of Jiaqing, the central government of Qing Dynasty authorized Rezhen hutuk to take charge of Rezhen temple. It is said that once at night, Rezhen living Buddha dreamt that God was dancing. Since then, he has added many God dancing programs to his original one. In 1604, Luo sangqu Jie, the fourth Panchen Lama, went to the Rezhen temple to preach the Scriptures. The living Buddha Rezhen dreamed that the God was dancing, so he added the content of dancing God. When he was Regent of the fifth reizhen living Buddha, he learned to jump from CAI Gongtang temple and longjiezhacang in Potala Palace In a word, after several years of evolution and development, the number of external offerings in Rezhen temple has increased to 12, which is extremely rich.
The site of Tiaoshen in Rezhen temple is backed by a mani wall inlaid with stone carvings, facing a large slope, which is convenient for the audience. All the dancers are young lamas from Rezhen temple. With the rising and falling of the Dharma name and drum music, each group of the ceremony is vivid and colorful. People can understand the true, good and beautiful feelings and the good wishes of exorcising demons, subduing demons and promoting Buddhism from various dance postures, masks and ghost forms. The traditional Tiaoshen performance has won applause from the audience. People's expectations have been met in the sound of pious prayer, the sound of drum music, and the sound of Tiaoshen's dance. The "papondangko Festival" has also come to an end in the rough and simple dance.
Historical evolution
Rezhen temple was built in 1056 by zhongdunba jiawajinai (1005-1064), the eldest disciple of adixia. In 1041, adixia (982-1054) was invited by Guge princes yixiwo and jiangquwo, the descendants of Tubo king, to preach in Ali for three years, and then to Weizang for nine years. In 1054, adixia passed away in nietang zhuomalakang (now in Qushui county). When it passed away, it designated zhongdunba jiawakenai, which means "Shengsheng". In 1005, it was born in qianzangdui Longpu (now duilong) Deqing County) a rich family, the father's name is dasonggexian, the mother's name is kuosaxiangma. He lost his mother when he was young, and his father continued to marry him. Because of the discord with his stepmother, he left to worship saizun as his teacher. Later, he learned that adixia had been to Ali Hong to teach, so he left saizun for Ali. In 1045 (the year of Muji in the Tibetan calendar), he visited adixia in Jiaxiang, aliburang. Adixia gave him a top irrigation (which could make his merits perfect), so he went to Weizang to promote Dharma. During his mission in Sangye temple, adixia and Tibetan translators translated many classic works, such as the interpretation of 25000 Prajna Guangming and the interpretation of the theory of taking Mahayana written by ajari. In 1054, adixia passed away in nietang. In 1055 (the year of Muyang in Tibetan calendar), Zhong dunba presided over a memorial ceremony for adixia in nietang, and built nietang temple in nietang. Soon after, the local leaders of Dangxiong in northern Tibet gathered and sent for zhongdunba to preach in Rezhen. At the beginning of 1056 (the year of fire monkey in Tibetan calendar), Zhong dunba led the other disciples of adixia to move to Rezhen together with the remains of adixia. In the same year, Rezhen temple was built and the remains of adixia were consecrated in the Silver Tower of Rezhen temple. Kadang sect is based on Rezhen temple, which is developed by zhongdunba jiawajinai inheriting the fundament of adixia.
Construction scale
Rezhen temple covers an area of about 25 mu (1667.5 square meters). Facing south, it is the architectural form of the last three. The main buildings are tsoqin hall, Rezhen lazhang and so on. There are Buddhist hall and Sutra hall in Cuoqin hall, with a construction area of about 1 mu (about 666.7 square meters). The Sutra hall is the main place for monks to do Buddhist activities. There are several small Sutra halls around, offering various Buddha statues, scriptures and religious supplies. There seems to be two walls inside and outside the Sutra Hall: the inner one is separated by the frames of Ganzhuer and danzhuer, and the outer wall is made of stone. At the back of the Sutra hall is Senkang, the residence of the Dalai Lama and the Regent during their tour. The main statue worshiped in the hall is "jue'a Yijiang baduoji" (the original statue of adixia). "Jue'a" means "senior" or "supreme", which is a kind of honorific term for Buddha. "Janba Doji" is another name for Vajra in the sequel of Tantric supreme yoga. This statue is shaped by the great wisdom bright point of Vajra's parents ("Vajra's holding Buddha" is the body appearance of Sakyamuni when he talks about the secret Dharma, which is the secret master of Tantrism; "wisdom bright point" refers to the light of emptiness). According to the records of weicang Daochang Shengji, it's like praying and praying for this, no matter what, you can achieve it. There are also jue'a statues with partial heads, which are extremely rare. In addition, there are the spiritual pagodas of sailinba (Master Jinzhou, born in the 10th century, once the teacher of adixia), jue'a Zun (namely adixia) and zhongdunba. In the west of the main hall, there is Rezhen lazhang (private delivery), which is a three-story building, covering an area of more than 1 mu: the first floor is the warehouse; the second floor is the residence of zasa and housekeeper; the third floor is the bedroom and Sutra Hall of Rezhen living Buddha. In the East, West and North, there are Sangha, surrounded by a half moon. The temple collapsed in the 1951 earthquake
