Jianmingtang Folk Museum

Jianmingtang Folk Museum, located in Xiuning County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, is a comprehensive museum integrating Huizhou culture and regional folk culture. Founded in 1998, it was originally named "jianmingtang collection". In 2009, it was moved and expanded, and renamed "jianmingtang Folk Museum". It officially opened on February 1, 2010.

As of 2015, there are more than 1000 pieces in the collection. The exhibition area is divided into six exhibition halls, which are classified and displayed, mainly including Ming and Qing Dynasty mahogany furniture, porcelain, jade and miscellaneous pieces. Among them, the rare Qing Dynasty tiger skin collection has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars.

Development history

In 1998, jianmingtang collection was built.

In February 2010, the old urban area of Xiuning was relocated to the new urban area and renamed "jianmingtang Folk Museum",

In September 2014, the construction of jianmingtang Cultural Industrial Park base was started in plot 27, Wanxin village, Wan'an Town, qiyundong Avenue, Xiuning County. The collection complex of jianmingtang folk custom museum is a phase I project.

On May 18, 2015, jianmingtang folk custom museum officially opened.

The new museum is a three storey Hui style building. The first and second floors are the collection exhibition hall and tourist rest service area. The third floor is the cultural relics identification, appreciation, auction, cultural activities and reception office area.

Important events

On June 3, 2010, Cai Jianjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Huangshan Municipal Party committee and director of the Propaganda Department, led the leaders of the Municipal Culture Commission and other relevant departments to investigate the jianmingtang folk custom museum. On June 18, the research group of Anhui Provincial Museum of culture and history visited our museum.

On February 8, 2011, Zhu Weifang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Anhui Provincial People's Congress and chairman of Anhui Provincial Democratic Progressive Committee, came to visit Mingtang folk custom museum. On May 9, Yang Jinzhen, member of the Standing Committee of Lujiang County Party committee and director of the Propaganda Department, and his party visited Mingtang folk custom museum.

On May 2, 2012, foreign teachers and students from the United States, South Korea, Romania, Canada and other countries of Huangshan university came to visit our museum with great interest. On May 5, Liu Luping, deputy director of Anhui Provincial Archives Bureau, and his party visited Mingtang folk custom museum.

On March 8, 2013, Fang Weibin, vice County of Xiuning County, visited Mingtang folk custom museum. On March 12, Yan Yalin, an expert from the State Administration of cultural relics, and Li Xiaodong, director of the Museum Department of the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics, visited the jianmingtang folk custom museum. On April 12, Zhang Wangnan, deputy director of China Huizhou Culture Museum of Anhui Province, and his party visited Mingtang folk custom museum.

On April 6, 2014, director Cao LiuJie and his party from the financial evaluation center of Anhui Provincial Department of finance came to visit Mingtang folk custom museum. On June 12, Wang Honggang, member of the Standing Committee of Xiuning County Party committee and Minister of publicity department, came to visit Mingtang folk custom museum. On June 15, contemporary painter Zhu Jianfu came to visit Mingtang folk custom museum.

On May 6, 2015, Lu Qun, Secretary of the county Party committee, visited Mingtang Folk Museum for investigation. On May 15, Xu Jianmin, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Huangshan Municipal People's Congress, and his party visited the new jianmingtang folk custom museum.
