Danxia Geopark in Zhangye

Zhangye Danxia Geopark is divided into Linze County entrance and Sunan County entrance. The west entrance is located in Nantaizi village, nijiaying, Linze County. Danxia Geopark in Zhangye

Located at the northern foot of Qilian Mountain and 30 kilometers south of Linze County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, Zhangye Danxia Geopark is one of the areas with the largest and best developed Danxia landforms and the richest landform shapes in China. It is a typical representative of China's colorful Danxia and window lattice palace Danxia, and has high scientific research and tourism value.

Danxia Landform in Zhangye is the only compound area of Danxia landform and colorful Hill Landscape in China. The landscape area mainly includes Binggou Danxia scenic area and colorful Danxia scenic area, with an interval of about 12 km. Zhangye Danxia Geopark covers an area of 536 square kilometers, including more than 200 square kilometers of colorful Danxia scenic area and more than 300 square kilometers of Binggou Danxia scenic area. Development history

The Danxia Landform in Zhangye was formed 6 million years ago.

Cause of formation

Danxia geological structure is formed by rock accumulation.
