The "golden nail" is the global standard of chronostratigraphic series, which is called global boundary stratotype section and point. The D section of Meishan in Changxing is the largest type of dating boundary in the history of the earth. In 1985, Professor Zhang Kexin of China University of Geosciences discovered conodont at the bottom of section 27c, which established the international status of the section. This "golden nail" is not only the boundary between Permian and Triassic, but also the boundary mark between Paleozoic and Mesozoic. It is one of the three largest dating "golden nails" in geological age. Its discovery represents the highest scientific honor of stratigraphic research level in the country where it is located. The geological museum, with a construction area of about 4000 square meters, is divided into six exhibition halls: the earth's mystery hall, the life evolution hall, the ore formation hall, the golden nail exhibition hall, the Changxing paleogeography hall and the science popularization demonstration hall. It will become a sacred palace for Chinese and foreign geoscience experts, a real and intuitive experimental base for colleges and universities, and a platform for popular science education for teenagers. These exhibition halls introduce the origin of life on earth with pictures, pictures and fossil specimens, and display various kinds of fossils and photos in the Changxing section. Based on the paleogeographic environment of Changxing in the Late Permian, they simulate the life scene of Paleontology and the paleogeographic and paleoecological landscape of the Permian Triassic period. In the museum, the most significant collection is an enlarged conodont model, which is a landmark fossil with epoch-making significance. It is the boundary between Paleozoic and Mesozoic era 250 million years ago. It has become a book read by scientists from all over the world, and has been identified as the world's highest level gold nail by the International Union of Geosciences. The global "gold nail" in Changxing geological relic nature reserve is one of the three most important dating boundaries (pre Paleozoic Paleozoic, Paleozoic Mesozoic, Mesozoic Cenozoic) in the history of the earth, that is, the dating boundary between Paleozoic and Mesozoic. At the same time, it is also one of the five secondary geological relic areas in the history of the earth The point where the largest extinction event in the extinction of Wuda is related to global change has international comparative significance and high scientific research value. Changxing geological heritage protection area is located at the junction of Meishan town and Huaikan Town, Changxing, which is a limestone section. In 1931, American scientist Gripp named Changxing Limestone as "Changxing stage", which represents a chronostratigraphic unit in the Late Permian and is the first chronostratigraphic unit named after Chinese place names. In March 2001, the International Geological Science union voted to formally define the D section of Changxing Limestone in Zhejiang Province as the global Permian Triassic boundary stratotype and point (commonly known as "golden nail"). On September 3, 2005, the International Union of Geosciences determined the contact junction type of the bottom boundary of Changxing stage and the top boundary of Wujiaping stage in the same section of Changxing Limestone, which means that there are two "gold nails" in the same section of D in Meishan, Changxing, Zhejiang Province, which is unique in the world.
