Suzhou embroidery Museum
Suzhou embroidery Museum, also known as China Suzhou embroidery art museum, was built in 1986. It was originally located in Huanxiu villa, a famous garden in Suzhou. At the end of 1988, it was moved to Wang Zhen's Ci, Jingde Road, Suzhou.
Development begins
Suzhou, a cultural ancient city, is known as "paradise on earth". Suzhou embroidery art bred in this beautiful environment has long been famous in the world. Suzhou embroidery has a history of more than two thousand years. According to Shuoyuan, there were "people who embroidered clothes but wore leopard fur" in Wu area during the spring and Autumn period. During the period of the Three Kingdoms, Mrs. Zhao of Sun Quan, the Lord of Wu, was good at embroidery. She could embroider the situation of five mountains, rivers and seas, cities and towns on the square silk. She was praised as the "unique needlework" by people of that time. By the Song Dynasty, Suzhou had "embroidery in every household". By the Ming Dynasty, Suzhou embroidery had formed the local characteristics of "fine, elegant and clear". The development of Suzhou embroidery in Qing Dynasty reached its peak. When wanbaomian Suzhou embroidery has a unique style of beautiful pattern, elegant color, lively needling and fine production, it has become one of the four famous embroidery styles in China.
architectural composition
Covering an area of 1.5 mu, the museum is divided into three parts: the gate, the instrument gate and the banquet hall. In the wide gate, nine palace lanterns with bright yellow characters on a red background are hung, and each lamp is written with the name of the museum. The exhibition is divided into three parts: one is "ancient embroidery room", the other is "Ming and Qing embroidery room", and the third is "modern embroidery room". A total of hundreds of valuable exhibits are on display to systematically show the development history of Suzhou embroidery.
Collection
Hanging at the front door of the hall of the first room is a picture of prosperous Suzhou, also known as the picture of flourishing age, which is a long embroidery scroll 400 cm long and 33 cm wide. The embroidery manuscript is a part of the painting scroll of the same name by Xu Yang, a painter of Qing Dynasty. It takes the prosperous scene of Suzhou from xumen to Jianmen. Under the guidance of Li eying, a master of Arts and crafts, the work uses more than ten kinds of needling methods, such as stitching, looping, twining and spreading, and more than 500 kinds of colored lines. It can be described as a work of exquisite embroidery, with the charm of the original work This is a fine piece of Suzhou embroidery. When you enter the door, you can enjoy the earliest embroidery objects: the Five Dynasties embroidered Sutra bundle unearthed from Huqiu tower in Suzhou, the Western Han Dynasty embroidered piece unearthed from the tomb of King Yan in dayantai in Beijing, the Western Han Dynasty embroidered piece unearthed from Tianshan tomb in Gaoyou, Jiangsu, and the double-sided embroidered Sutra bundle of the Northern Song Dynasty unearthed from Huiguang tower in Ruian, Zhejiang. As early as the Han Dynasty, embroidery was not only widely used, but also widely produced. At that time, there was a professional production of embroidery in Jiangnan area, which was as famous as brocade.
In the embroidery room of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there are dragon robes of the emperor, Baizi clothes of the empress, buns of official clothes, girdles and purses of waist ornaments popular in the Qing Dynasty, mirror covers and bed hangings for interior decoration, all of which are very elegant and beautiful. The embroidery vertical scroll of the Ming Dynasty, such as "squirrel grape" and "pheasant white rabbit", and the embroidery of the Qing Dynasty, such as "Lady planting flowers" and "Ju Shi Tu", all embody the wisdom and exquisite skills of the ancestors. In the exhibition room, there is a very eye-catching red Kang blanket, 4 meters long and 2 meters wide, which was used by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty during his Eastern tour of Shenyang. The composition of the blanket is evenly embroidered with five "happy meeting" Double Butterfly Embroidery flowers embroidered with real gold thread, which contains the meaning of love between husband and wife. Among the flowers, the pattern of vines and flowers is embroidered with colored velvet, which is flexible and the style is rough. The mascots, such as Baoluo, Baosan, Baogai and Jinlian, are embroidered in Panjin of the four Zhou Dynasty, and the outer ring is embroidered with velvet patterns. The colors are bright, rich and elegant. It is a masterpiece of the Qianlong period.
The modern embroidery room focuses on the embroidery masterpieces of Shen Shou, an outstanding Chinese embroidery artist, and Jin Jingfen, a famous old Suzhou artist. Master Shen Shou, formerly known as Shen Yunzhi, was born in Suzhou with the name of xuehuan. He is known as "Xiusheng" and "Shenzhen". In 1904, the painting of eight immortals on longevity, which she embroidered, was presented to empress dowager CILU for her 70th birthday. She was awarded the fourth-class commercial honor by the Ministry of agriculture, industry and Commerce of the Qing Dynasty. She was awarded the title of "Shou" by her own letter, so it was renamed "Shen Shou". Later, he went to Japan to study Japanese art embroidery and Western painting photography. After returning to China, he served as the chief teacher of embroidery engineering in Beijing. During this period, she learned from the realism of Western painting and created the "simulation embroidery", which raised the Suzhou embroidery technology to a new level. Her representative works of imitation embroidery, the statue of the queen of Italy and the statue of Jesus, won the first prize in Italy's Durang Exposition (19if) and Panama's Exposition (1915), and won high honors for Chinese embroidery in the world. In addition, there are all kinds of embroidery on display, such as Qi needle embroidery, Sha Sha pan gold embroidery, Ping Jin embroidery, weaving gold embroidery, etc.
