Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park is located in Gaosha beach, Gaoqiao Town, Pudong New Area. It was reclaimed in 1950s by blowing mud into land. Riverside Garden

With a total length of 2.5km, Binjiang garden starts from taitongzhan Wharf in the north and ends at Dongchang Road Wharf in the south. It is a riverside landscape project integrating sightseeing, greening, transportation and service facilities, focusing on urban ecological environment and function.

Waterfront garden is composed of hydrophilic platform, slope greening, landscape road and 50 year old waterfront garden (former Pudong Park). It is the East Bund of Shanghai in the 21st century. Binjiang Forest Park is located at the northernmost end of Pudong New Area, adjacent to the Yangtze River Estuary in the north and Huangpu River in the west, occupying the unique geographical location of "Three Parallel Rivers" of Huangpu River, Yangtze River and East China Sea in Shanghai. If the visibility of the river is high, you can not only enjoy the spectacular scene of "Three Parallel Rivers", but also see Hengsha, Chongming and Changxing islands.

The waterfront integrated with the park is reconstructed from the seawall in the north of Pudong New Area and the flood control embankment in the east of Wusongkou of Huangpu River. Along the way, there are stilts, wooden plank roads and rest pavilions and corridors. There are also three "hydrophilic platforms" on the waterfront, which organically connect the park with the river and the sea.

On the hydrophilic platform, people can rely on the fence to face the river. On the slope which is gradually rising on the side of the hydrophilic platform, flowering shrubs are inlaid in the green lawn. The lakes, waterside pavilions, hexagonal pavilions, small bridges, rockeries, flower galleries and paths in the park are combined with tall trees and dense flowers and shrubs to create a comfortable and quiet environment far away from the metropolis.

Primitive dense forest

The continuous green forest has become a unique landscape of riverside Wetland Park. Walking 20 minutes to the hinterland of the park, you enter a dense forest. You can see a large area of camphor trees with curved body. The leaves accumulated for many years are thick on the lawn. There are many unknown wild flowers everywhere. It took nearly 20 minutes to walk out of the deep Cinnamomum camphora forest. This dense forest ecological reserve, which accounts for about one fifth of the total area of the park, has been accumulated and protected for nearly half a century.

Out of the dense forest, take the park's battery car. On the east side of the park, you can see forests of Metasequoia glyptostroboides and cedars everywhere. The path in the forest is still the original stone road, covered with layers of withered Metasequoia glyptostroboides leaves. There are also hawthorn, jujube, persimmon, bayberry, loquat and more than 2000 orange trees in the orchard area. In autumn, people can come here to pick fruits.

The first phase project of Binjiang Forest Park is reconstructed from Sanchagang nursery. Gaosha beach, Gaoqiao Town, Pudong New Area, where the park is located, is reclaimed by "blowing mud into land". After more than 50 years of careful cultivation, the nursery gradually formed a large area, wide distribution and various types of near natural vegetation types. The Cinnamomum camphora forest in the "heart" of the park and the trees in the large natural forest belt in the east of the park are all airtight. During the reconstruction of the park, the "forest window" was specially opened in the dense forest to make the sunlight shine in.

Wetland ecological park

There is also a "treasure" in the forest park, which is located on the west side of the park, accounting for more than 200 mu. Walking on the scattered stone road beside the water, in the thickets of Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Liquidambar formosana and Magnolia grandiflora, the local trees such as Sapium sebiferum and Pterocarya stenoptera crisscross. Along the fluctuating terrain, several streams pass through the forest and converge to the lower part, forming a shallow lake of more than 60 mu. Iris, scallion and other plants around the lake are full of vitality. From time to time, birds skim over the water. According to reports, there are more than 50 kinds of aquatic plants here. In summer and autumn, lotus and lotus flowers bloom in the water, while reeds grow on the bank. Natural lake island, swamp wetland, stream, woodland and other original natural landscape form the landscape atmosphere and recreation space of "mixed forest and stream". Moreover, due to the preservation of the original natural waterway, there are many fish and amphibians that are not seen in the urban area.

Rhododendron show

Rhododendron, known as the "flower of the west," said. The Rhododendron exhibition is dominated by the Rhododendron Garden in Binjiang Forest Park, with more than 30 kinds and 4000 rhododendrons on display. Visitors can also enjoy the rare rhododendrons more than 20 years old. Rhododendron Garden has Rhododendron mountain, covering an area of more than 100 mu. There are four series of rhododendrons on the mountain, including Rhododendron pubescens, Rhododendron alpina, Rhododendron summer and Rhododendron spring. There are more than 20 varieties of Rhododendron, which are colorful and full of spring.

There are three scenic spots in the garden: there are "welcome azaleas" at the entrance of the garden, which are composed of nearly 100 pots of azaleas. A main road with flowers leads people to the azalea mountain; a group of windmill scenery, which is set off by a hundred flowers, forms a unique atmosphere; the Expo boat is also decorated with all kinds of flowers, and Haibao comes and goes on the Expo boat. During the Rhododendron show, the seasonal flowers such as Buddleja, Canary, primrose, Yu Meiren, Petunia, four seasons Begonia and peacock grass will be arranged into color blocks to become the "green leaves" of Rhododendron in the mountains and gardens.

On the high slope in the northwest, a Hongqing spring slowly descends. When azaleas are in full bloom, the mountains are red and the scenery is picturesque. Stream is a form of water flow in natural mountain streams.
