Dongzhou Island

Dongzhou island is located in Yalong Bay National Tourist Resort, the southernmost tip of Hainan. There are lamp posts on the island, boar Island nearby, Xizhou Island, and dongpai and XiPai in the West. In 1996, the Chinese government issued a statement on the scope of the territorial sea. Two places on Dongzhou island are one of the bases of China's territorial sea.

Junshan island in Yueyang, Juzizhou island in Changsha and Dongzhou island in Hengyang are known as three continents in Xiangjiang River Basin. Taolang in Dongzhou is one of the eight scenic spots in ancient Hengyang.

History of scenic spots

Dongzhou Island Scenic Spot is located in the middle of Xuxiang River, 2km south of Hengyang City. It is divided into Xiangjiang River in the middle and eastward. Its potential is like bowing eastward, so it is named Dongzhou. Because it looks like a big ship sailing north, it was once called Chuanshan. It is 1970 meters long from north to South and 210 meters wide in the south. On the island, there used to be a place where Liu wenbie, Shaoqing of Taipu Temple of Ming Dynasty, lived. Chang Ying, king of GUI, rebuilt the Wansheng palace. There was a bronze statue of the Budai monk in it, so it was also called the ancestral hall. In 1763, Dongzhou Academy was built on the abandoned foundation of the back of the hall. In 1885, Peng Yulin, the Minister of the Ministry of defense of Guangdong Province, donated money to move Chengnan Chuanshan academy to Dongzhou, and renovated and expanded Dongzhou academy into Chuanshan Academy. Wang Kaiyun, a great scholar, is invited to teach for more than 10 years. Yang Du, a prodigy of many generations, once studied here. After the revolution of 1911, it was changed into Chuanshan ancient school. In 1922, it was reconstituted as Chuanshan National College, and Zeng Xi was the president. After that, there were many changes or other uses. The former site of Chuanshan academy still exists.

Hengyang lotus leaf bun

Rural traditional food. It is said that it has a history of more than one thousand years. Mix high quality rice with water and oil, steam and cool. Pailou Tangyuan

Hengyang flavor snacks. Changning jelly

Changning unique flavor food. It has a history of more than 1300 years. It is made from the core of the local liangfenteng. The riprap revetment project of Dongzhou island has been completed; the new construction and repair of Chuanshan academy and Luohan temple have entered the construction site; the foundation construction of Chuanshan academy lecture hall has been completed; the demolition of the damaged components of the repair part has been basically completed; the new wood replacement components are being made; the list of landscape and ancillary facilities has been completed, and the road subgrade construction is in progress.

Zhou Haibing inspected the construction site of Dongzhou Island project and listened to relevant reports. He said that the construction of Dongzhou Island project is a major event in Hengyang's urban construction, a major effort to restore Hengyang's history and culture, and a key project to enhance the city's taste. In order to further optimize the project design, we should make clear the project positioning and pay attention to the functional layout, especially the construction of Chuanshan academy as the top priority, explore the cultural heritage of Dongzhou Island, and improve the project quality; we should scientifically select the dock and waiting place, set up the boarding rail, reasonably divide the tourists, control the number of people on the island, and ensure the tourism safety; we should conscientiously do a good job in landscape design, and improve the quality of the project Tourism facilities and natural landscape are integrated to create a convenient and comfortable tourism environment for tourists.

Zhou Haibing stressed that the development and construction of Dongzhou island should drive the development and construction of the east bank area of Xiangjiang River.
