A brief introduction to the mural Tomb of King Mu in Wuwen
The tomb is located 7 meters underground, is a brick structure tomb. It is 3 meters high. Near the back wall of the tomb, there is a stone coffin bed with patterns carved on it. From the four remaining epitaphs in the tomb, it can be seen that the owner of the tomb is Zhu Chao, the eighth grandson of emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty, who was buried with his wife Zhang Taifei. In the center of the back wall of the tomb is painted Sakyamuni Buddha, on both sides are painted Dharma protecting birds, unicorns and elephants, on the East and west walls are painted portraits of emperors and princesses, their relatives, waiters, pavilions and various musical instruments, and on the top of the tomb are painted sun, moon and stars. The composition of mural is harmonious and the color is bright, which represents the high level of painting in Ming Dynasty. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province.
Internal conditions of the tomb
In 1953, it was washed out by rain, and the Henan Provincial Museum organized the excavation. The tomb is 7 meters away from the earth's surface. It faces south and is made of green bricks,
On the front of the tomb, there is a wooden gate tower, 2.18 meters high and 1.30 meters wide, with two stone doors, which can be opened freely. The tomb is 6.30 meters long and 3 meters wide, with a rectangular plane and a round certificate on the top. There is a hole in the north wall of the tomb.
There is a blue stone table in the tomb, which is broken. Coffin bed, gray limestone, located under the north wall. Around the coffin bed, there are continuous flower patterns with twigs.
There are rich murals in the tomb, and the top of the tomb is a sky scene. The north wall is painted with a Buddhist niche in the palace. East wall painted sitting Buddha, wearing emperor's clothes, suspected to be the owner of the tomb. The content of the west wall is similar to that of the east wall.
Traffic tips: take bus No.12 from Zhengzhou railway station and get off at wawusun station on Zhongyuan West Road. It's an air-conditioned bus. The ticket price is two yuan. You can swipe the card for six yuan.
