Because there is a big camphor tree in the village, which is more than 700 years old. People climb on the tree to look down on it. The village is like a foot, so it is named Zhangjiao village. The "stone houses" on the hillside are like an ancient castle.

Village characteristics
Six or seven kilometers from Chaoyang highway in Quangang District of 324 National Highway, through qianou, kengwei, Tuxing, and then winding mountain road, to Zhangjiao village, you can see the "stone houses" on the hillside, which are overlapped layer by layer and connected end to end, just like an ancient castle. It's like a beautiful oil painting.
People in the village said that there is a big camphor tree in the village with an age of more than 700 years. People climb on the tree to look down on it. The village is like a foot in the foot, so Zhangjiao village gets its name. The weather after the dog days is very hot. Walking in the village, I feel fresh.
Walking into this block of houses made of stone, the heavy sense of history fills the air. The stone eggs and stones on the wall are iron red wind fossils. When building a house, we should follow the trend of the mountain and pay no attention to the layout. Many people, in the same house, have to go up several stone steps from one room to another. Between households, there are stone egg steps connected. Generally, houses are built to the top with stones, and some of them are built with adobe. These houses all have one thing in common, that is, they have few and small windows, which is said to be considered from the aspect of anti-theft. In the same house, it is necessary to leave a narrow open-air roadway or small patio between the front and back rooms in order to facilitate ventilation and lighting.
Among the ancient people, Ruifeng building is the most magnificent and characteristic. According to reports, "Ruifeng building" is located at the top of the village. It has two stories of buildings, all of which are made of random stones. The whole building is made of stone on three sides to the top. Only three small windows are left on the front wall of the second floor. The gate is exquisitely constructed and is arched by carved diabase blocks. On the lintel is a plaque engraved with the words "Ruifeng" and inscribed with the words "autumn of the fourth year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty". The bottom wall of Ruifeng building is one meter wide, and the narrowest part of the second floor is more than 70 cm. There are three rooms on both sides of the building, a small hall in the back and a large patio in the middle. This kind of structure is a little similar to the Tulou in West Fujian. Unfortunately, after a big fire, the second and third floors were destroyed because of their wooden structure, and the first floor was rebuilt with stone bricks.
Walking through the Stone Lane made of pebbles, the walls on both sides are within reach. The houses made of stone are stacked and well arranged. The narrow and quiet stone Lane made of pebbles, washed by rain, left an ancient mark on the stone beam. The old rattan on the stone wall adds a lot of vicissitudes to the stone house. After years of baptism, the stone wall has been mottled, but its red brown, gray, and Tibetan color, under the sun, is so gorgeous and colorful, just like an oil painting. Once artists from many places have been to Zhangjiao ancient dwellings, they can't help but fall in love with this oil painting like village.
The cracks in the stone wall are covered with green moss spots, which makes the space of the roadway dark and quiet. Sunlight can only hit the high roof, a little light leakage in the wall, and the dark tunnel contrast, forming a completely different space. Here, the roadway is connected with the roadway, and the fork road is connected with the fork road. The winding path leads to seclusion, which is quite mysterious.
