Shanghai Bay National Forest Park

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park is the third National Forest Park in Shanghai and the largest forest park in Shanghai at present. The park has the best 5.3km coastline in Shanghai. The park is mainly divided into three tourism areas, namely amusement park, forest kart, forest horse racing, forest barbecue, etc., aquatic activity area (farm food, cruise ship wharf, etc.) and cultural viewing area (a variety of folk collections).

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park is located in the May 4th farm of Haiwan Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai, 60 kilometers away from the center of Shanghai. It is a large-scale artificial urban ecological forest that simulates nature, with forest as the main body and integrates seedling production, leisure and tourism, scientific research and popular science education.

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park was built by Shanghai Century Forest Development Co., Ltd. in 1999, jointly funded by bright food group and Shanghai Urban Investment Corporation. In 2004, the State Forestry Administration officially named the project as "Shanghai Bay National Forest Park", and in 2005, Shanghai municipal government officially approved the master plan of the project.

The scenic spots closed due to the epidemic will be reopened on March 12, 2020.

Historical evolution

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park is constructed by Shanghai century forest, and was established in 1999 by Guangming Food Group and Shanghai Urban Investment Corporation.

From 2001 to 2004, the park won the Shanghai advanced group of greening.

On December 3, 2004, the General Administration of forestry of the people's Republic of China approved the establishment of "Shanghai Gulf National Forest Park".

In 2005, Shanghai municipal government officially approved the master plan of the project.

On April 28, 2010, the Park held the opening ceremony of "Expo sightseeing agricultural park" of Shanghai World Expo and the official opening ceremony of Shanghai Gulf National Forest Park.

In May 2011, the park became one of the popular science bases in Shanghai and a member of leisure agriculture and rural tourism branch of China Tourism Association.

On August 23, 2011, the scenic spot of Shanghai Gulf National Forest Park met the requirements of the national 4A scenic spot standard, and was approved as the national 4A scenic spot after the study and decision of the national scenic spot quality rating committee.

In October 2011, the park won the title of "Shanghai civilization Park".

In November 2011, the park won the five-star title of national leisure agriculture and rural tourism.

In November 2011, the park's "Shanghai style Museum group cultural tourism service" was recommended as "brand service" in 2011 by Shanghai SME Brand Construction Promotion Committee.

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park is located in Wusi farm, Haiwan Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. It is 60km away from the center of Shanghai. Shanghai Bay National Forest Park is adjacent to Lingang New Town in the East and Hangzhou Bay in the south. It covers an area of 15983.5 mu. Among them: the opening area is 4500 mu, and the water area is 85 hectares. It is divided into three tourism areas: Recreation Area (including amusement park, forest kart, forest horse racing, forest barbecue, etc.), water activity area (farmhouse food, cruise dock, Meilin Chunxiao, tianwo tea house, etc.), culture and appreciation area, mainly including Kunlun stone house, Yingjiao bonsai garden, Yue kiln celadon hall, Sihai ceramic art hall, yaxinglou painting and calligraphy hall, wangjiagen carving hall, furniture hall, garden and so on Art Museum, Ru Kiln Museum, dinosaur museum, shanggongfu, etc.

Resource status

It has the best 5.3km coastline in Shanghai. It used to be part of the vast east China Sea. Shanghai Bay National Forest Park has more than 4 million trees and 350 species. It is a near natural forest formed by artificial construction under the guidance of the basic concept of simulating nature and returning to nature. In the park, a thick and natural compound mixed forest community is planted, which organically combines flower, leaf and fruit observation, and uses various colorful leaf tree species to form a colorful urban forest landscape based on forest ecology. There are more than 4.2 million trees planted in the park, including 342 species of 79 families; 100 mu of plum blossom, 30 varieties, and more than 10000 plants; 26 species of bamboo, 304000 plants; among them, Cinnamomum camphora, Neolitsea zhoushanensis, Phellodendron amurense, etc. are national rare and endangered species.

Main attractions

White bird Lake

Bainiao lake, with an area of 580 mu, is the largest artificial lake in Shanghai. Every autumn, bainiao Lake almost becomes the "home" of egrets. At the most time, there are more than 1000 egrets coming and going from the waterfront. In addition, grey herons, ducks, rabbits and pheasants also inhabit and play here.

Main entrance

The entrance was completed in June 2002, with the highest elevation of 9 meters and a total area of 60 mu. 35 species of trees have been planted, mainly including Cinnamomum camphora, Cedrus deodara, Phyllostachys pubescens, Dendrocalamus creeping, Pinus elliottii, Larix kaempferi, Ligustrum lucidum, etc.

Jingguanlin No.1

This landscape forest was planted in the spring of 2000, covering an area of 580 mu. After four years of growth, the landscape forest has begun to take shape. When you walk into the forest, the forest atmosphere is coming. What you see is the forest atmosphere with rich sense of hierarchy, game and species. Spring is full of vitality; summer is full of shade; autumn and winter are full of color. There are more than 60 species of trees and shrubs, mainly beech, Sapium sebiferum, chongyangmu, Cinnamomum camphora, Pterocarya stenoptera, Pittosporum, mosquito mother, Ginkgo biloba, Ligustrum lucidum, Michelia Lechang, Toona sinensis, Ailanthus altissima and slash pine. In four years to form such a landscape, is due to a good greening concept: planting random irregular method, the implementation of arbor, shrub, grass three-dimensional configuration, evergreen and deciduous, fast-growing and slow-growing tree species with appropriate, to achieve the sustainable development of landscape forest function and benefits.

Bird Island

It is a semi closed man-made island with only one population from yulanqiao, covering a total area of 86 mu. In bird island, many kinds of bird eating plants are planted to attract birds. Such as jujube, mulberry, loquat, fig, Elaeagnus, Pyracantha, etc. These trees produce a lot of fruit for birds in different seasons.

nursery

The nursery covers an area of 2000 mu, with 2.7 million seedlings and more than 160 kinds of plants. It is a large nursery base in Shanghai. The seedlings in the base grow vigorously and are full of vitality. Many tree species such as Neolitsea officinalis and Cinnamomum camphora are national rare and endangered plants. It can provide a large number of high-quality seedlings for other major greening projects in Shanghai and century forest itself.

Development and construction

Shanghai Bay National Forest Park has been built quietly since it was started in 1999. After eight years of careful building, it has become the largest artificial "green lung" in Shanghai.

More than 3 million cubic meters of earth have been excavated in the park, 185 mountains have been built, 22.5 kilometers of new rivers have been opened, and the water area is more than 21 hectares, including a bainiao lake with a water area of 5.8 hectares, which is also the largest artificial lake in Shanghai.

Bainiao lake covers an area of 580 mu. It was excavated manually in 2002, with a total earthwork of 800000 cubic meters. The deepest elevation is 0.2m, and the deepest water level is 3.1m at high water level. According to the design, bainiao Lake needs to form an independent water system, so sluice gates are set around the lake to control the water level. The highest water level can be controlled to 3.3 meters. At this time, water-resistant trees such as Taxodium and Taxodium will be immersed in the water, forming a water forest. Ships, yachts and other water tools will be used soon, so a wharf and yacht distribution center will be built in the east of bainiao lake. At the same time, an artificial beach was built to the north of the pier. Bird Island trees were planted in October 2002.

The first phase covers an area of 4500 mu, which is divided into recreation area, water activity area, cultural viewing area and holiday meeting area. Amusement park, forest kart, forest horse racing, forest barbecue and other projects have been built in the recreation area; water activity area makes full use of more than 1000 mu of water surface to make all kinds of cruise ships travel more than 7 km in a straight line; bonsai garden reflecting Shanghai style characteristics has been built in the cultural viewing area; supporting facilities such as dining, transportation, communication, parking, monitoring, etc. for tourists are basically completed Completed.
