Zhongshan City Museum
Zhongshan museum was established on September 28, 1984. It is a local comprehensive museum under Zhongshan Culture, radio, television, press and Publication Bureau. The museum is located in Zhongshan Qiaoli hospital, which was built in 1934. It is a Chinese and Western courtyard building with three floors and a construction area of 2000 square meters. Zhongshan Museum consists of Zhongshan Art Museum, Xiangshan commercial culture museum, Zhongshan China Radio Museum and Sun Wen Memorial Park Exhibition Hall.
Development history
Qiaoligong hospital was established in 1932 by Xiao zhenchen, an overseas Chinese living in the United States
Founded by overseas Chinese and people from all walks of life. After two years, the building was officially completed and put into use in 1934. It is the earliest Western Hospital in Zhongshan. After the founding of the people's Republic of China in October 1949, qiaoligong hospital was transformed into the office building of Zhongshan County CPC Committee. In March 1950, Qiaoli Zhongshan public hospital merged with Zhongshan County Public Health Center, and then expanded to Zhongshan County People's Hospital, which is the predecessor of Zhongshan People's hospital. In September 1984, Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of culture established the museum preparation office, with Gan Tang, Secretary of the Party group of the Bureau, concurrently as the director of the preparation office. On September 28, 1984, the people's Government of Zhongshan City agreed to set up Zhongshan City Museum to allocate the first floor (underground) of the former qiaoligong hospital to the city museum. In October 1986, Zhongshan museum completed the second phase reconstruction project. In 1999, the government invested funds to renovate the Zhongshan museum building, repaint the external and internal walls, maintain the gray plastic and other architectural decoration, and equipped with special water supply and drainage, electrical, fire fighting, air conditioning, information, monitoring and other system equipment. The exhibition venue and office space have been greatly improved. In 2004, Qiaoli Zhongshan public hospital was declared as an immovable cultural relic in Zhongshan City. At the end of June 2005, Zhongshan museum completed the construction of constant temperature and humidity cultural relics storehouse.

Zhongshan City Museum now has: Zhongshan Art Museum, Zhongshan China Radio Museum, Xiangshan commercial culture museum. It covers an area of 700 square meters and a construction area of 2000 square meters. The site was originally Zhongshan qiaoligong hospital, sitting south to north. It is a Chinese and Western courtyard building, including the main building, annex building and garden (now changed to Stadium). Zhongshan museum is located in the main building of the original hospital. It is a three-story reinforced concrete building with white outer wall and Chinese green glazed tile roof. It is the best preserved modern Chinese medical and health building in Zhongshan.

Collection
Since its establishment, Zhongshan Museum has carried out the general survey, collection and excavation of cultural relics in Zhongshan, and successively discovered a number of cultural relics and sites of Neolithic period, Shang and Zhou dynasties, Warring States period and Han Dynasty, such as Longxue site and Baishuijing site. With the approval of the State Administration of cultural relics, from December 1990 to January 1991, Zhongshan Museum, together with Guangdong Provincial Institute of Archaeology and Zhongshan Municipal Office of cultural administration, excavated a number of precious cultural relics such as colored pottery, sand pottery and stone tools. Among them, colored pottery such as painted pottery ring foot plate and painted pottery bowl are the most representative colored pottery in the Pearl River Delta region, which provides a reference for the study of the Pearl River Delta The ancient cultural features of Jiaozhou area provide valuable material materials.
The cultural relics in the collection are mainly local unearthed cultural relics, mainly including pottery, porcelain, bronze, celebrity calligraphy and painting, revolutionary cultural relics, etc.
In recent years, a large number of intellectual and ideological exhibitions have been held and introduced, such as "Zhongshan unearthed cultural relics exhibition", "museum collection exhibition", "Guangdong ceramic collection joint exhibition", "Fang Cheng donated famous artists' painting and calligraphy exhibition", "terracotta warriors exhibition of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty", "Tang Xiongfeng - Tang Taizong Zhaoling treasure exhibition", "Guangdong Qing Dynasty tribute Exhibition", "ancient call - dinosaurs and paleontological Fossils Exhibition" The exhibition, with strong interest, combined with the local reality, actively played the role of patriotic education base, and sent the exhibition to the countryside and schools, which was widely recognized and appreciated by the society.

Honors
Since its establishment in 1984, Zhongshan Museum has held more than 200 exhibitions. Besides the museum, the exhibitions are also sent to various towns and schools. In the past three years, more than 10 temporary exhibitions have been held every year, with a total of about 250000 visitors, by using the existing collection resources, introducing exhibitions, and co operating exhibitions.
Zhongshan Museum broadens the channels of collection acquisition through various legal channels. There are archaeological investigation and excavation, allocation by Guangdong Provincial Cultural Administration Commission, transfer by Zhongshan Library and Zhongshan Public Security Bureau, donation by units and individuals, and purchase from Guangzhou Cultural Relics head office and collectors. By the end of 2008, there are more than 8000 pieces / set of cultural relics. Mainly local cultural relics, mainly stone, pottery, porcelain, bronze, calligraphy and painting, coins and other categories.
Zhongshan art museum was built and put into use in November 2002. It is the first art museum in the history of Zhongshan City. It is located in Qijiang Park in the western district. It is a two-story building with steel structure and 2000 square meters exhibition hall. It has the aesthetic idea of European avant-garde and the characteristics of post industrial era. It will improve the urban cultural taste of Zhongshan City, cultivate elegant artistic atmosphere and promote the development of the city It plays an important role in the development of cultural and artistic undertakings and in providing citizens with diversified amateur cultural life. Since its opening to the outside world, it has successively held such elegant art exhibitions as "Sino Japanese Calligraphers' works exchange exhibition", "Zhongshan famous cartoonists' Works Exhibition" and "collection of Zhongshan famous calligraphers' Works Exhibition".
Xiangshan commercial and cultural museum was officially opened to the public on January 17, 2006. It is located in the cultural and tourism pedestrian street of Sunwen West Road. The museum will integrate culture and tourism, and mainly display the evolution of business development and commercial history and culture in the early period of Zhongshan (mainly in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China). Its completion will greatly improve and enrich the cultural heritage and connotation of the cultural tourism pedestrian street, and further stimulate the patriotism of Zhongshan people.
Zhongshan · China Radio Museum was built on May 18, 2005 and officially opened to the outside world. It is located in the vice building of Zhongshan Museum. Its construction vividly shows the history of Chinese radio, shows the radio culture, and becomes the first radio Museum in China. It fills in the blank of Chinese Radio history and is an important achievement of the construction of Zhongshan characteristic Museum.
