1、 School running history

Zhaoqing medical college is a public full-time college approved by the Ministry of education. The school is located in Zhaoqing, one of the first batch of China's excellent tourist cities and national historical and cultural city. In line with the school running philosophy of "education oriented, quality based, talent strong and characteristic based", the school adheres to the school running orientation of "based on Guangdong, radiating the whole country, facing the grassroots and serving the society", takes service as the purpose, employment as the guidance and professional ability training as the standard, takes the development road of "school college cooperation and medical education combination", and cultivates the students' ability of "going down, using and staying" ”High quality applied health talents. The school has a long history. Founded in 1958, it was formerly known as Zhaoqing branch of Zhongshan Medical College and later renamed as Zhaoqing Health School of Guangdong Province. In 1994 and 2000, the school was awarded the title of key technical secondary school by the State Education Commission and the Ministry of education. In 1993 and 1999, they jointly run schools with Guangdong Medical College and Sun Yat Sen Medical University, and set up Zhaoqing Teaching Department of Guangdong Medical College and Zhaoqing teaching center of Sun Yat Sen Medical University respectively. Approved by the Ministry of education in May 2004, it was upgraded to a full-time general college and became the only independent medical college in our province.

Over the past 50 years, the university has provided more than 50000 medical and health technical talents for the country, and many graduates have become the backbone of the industry.

2、 Campus appearance

The school has three campuses: Duanzhou campus, Dinghu campus and north campus. Duanzhou is located on the Bank of Xijiang River with pleasant scenery. Dinghu campus is adjacent to the national 4A scenic spot Dinghu Mountain. It covers a total area of 512 mu, with a total construction area of 210000 square meters. The campus environment is elegant and the infrastructure is perfect. The school has 8 experimental training bases, 132 training rooms for various experiments, training, simulation and simulation skills, and each laboratory is equipped with modern audio-visual education equipment. 3、 Affiliated Hospital

The First Affiliated Hospital (the first people's Hospital of Zhaoqing City) is a large-scale comprehensive "grade-3 Grade-A" hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation functions. It was appraised as "Baby Friendly Hospital" in 1995, and "teaching hospital of higher medical colleges in Guangdong Province" by the Provincial Department of health in 1996 and 1998 respectively ”The Second Affiliated Hospital (the second people's Hospital of Zhaoqing City) is a three-level general hospital and a three-level maternal and child health care hospital integrating medical teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation; the Affiliated Hospital of Zhaoqing Medical College (the Stomatological Hospital of Zhaoqing City) is a "second class a" general hospital integrating medical treatment, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. It is one of the clinical teaching and practice bases of Guangdong Medical College and Zhaoqing medical college. At the same time, it is also the base of Zhaoqing national doctor qualification practical skills examination. The hospital has a complete set of medical teaching instruments and equipment, with the characteristics of Stomatology, ophthalmology, thyroid and so on. At present, the university is increasing the establishment of non directly affiliated hospitals. By the end of 2015, it will have 8 non directly affiliated hospitals including Gaoyao people's Hospital, and its clinical teaching strength will be further enhanced. In addition, the university has established an off campus practice base with more than 130 top-quality hospitals in Guangdong Province, including Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, Guangdong Armed Police Corps Hospital, and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat sen University. At present, there are more than 700 full-time and part-time teachers in the school, and the teachers are mainly middle and senior professional titles. The major setting is guided by market economy and closely focuses on the needs of social and economic development. The provincial key majors include nursing, clinical medicine and midwifery. Among them, nursing is the provincial model major, clinical medicine and midwifery are also the key majors supported by the central government; Stomatology, traditional Chinese medicine, pharmacy and medical laboratory technology are the key specialties in the 12th Five Year Plan. The major of rehabilitation treatment technology and medical imaging technology are the key construction majors. The school is the training base for nursing talents in short supply in China, which is determined by the Ministry of education, Ministry of health and other six ministries and commissions. The training base of nursing and clinical medicine is supported by the central and provincial finance.

The school of Stomatology is a key specialty jointly run by Guanghua stomatological College of Sun Yat sen University. The Affiliated Hospital of the University (Zhaoqing stomatological hospital) has also been strongly supported by Guanghua stomatological College of Zhongshan Medical University.

The school's medical imaging, rehabilitation treatment technology and community nursing are funded by the Hong Kong Huaxia foundation, which has a strong school running strength.

6、 School running characteristics

7、 Foreign exchange

The school actively carries out various forms of foreign exchange and cooperation, gradually establishes the educational consciousness of integrating with international education, develops specialty education with characteristics and advantages, broadens teaching ideas, and improves the international communication ability of teachers and students. We have signed an exchange agreement with the University of San Paolo and Saint pious University in Manila, Philippines to exchange teachers and students for cultural exchange every year. We cooperated with the school of nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University to introduce advanced ideas of nursing education reform, and sent teachers and students of Hong Kong Polytechnic University to the school for communication, and went to the countryside together to carry out health education and guidance for children. In cooperation with Sun Yat Sen Medical University of Taiwan, experts and scholars from Taiwan are invited to give lectures. Meanwhile, our university sends teachers to Taiwan for further study. To cooperate with Macao Jinghu nursing college to select excellent fresh graduates for clinical practice in Macao hospitals. The school also cooperates and exchanges with many foreign institutions and educational institutions in the United States, Canada, Japan, etc.
