Shaanxi Vocational and technical college, formerly known as Shaanxi Vocational Education Center, a key construction project of the ninth five year plan, was established on October 20, 1995. In 2001, with the approval of the provincial government, Shaanxi Vocational and technical college was established on the basis of the Provincial Vocational Education Center. The college is a full-time public university directly under the Education Department of Shaanxi Province. The college has been identified by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance as the backbone construction unit of "National Model Higher Vocational College Construction Plan". The college is located in the southern suburb of Xi'an, with a campus area of 477000 square meters and a building area of 277500 square meters. The library has a collection of 750000 books, 88 experimental and training rooms for various specialties, 146 off campus practice and training bases and technical service contact points, and 17 on campus vocational skill assessment and appraisal stations (institutes) covering 39 vocational qualifications and technical jobs. The computer application technology training base of our college is a construction project supported by the central finance; the three campus training bases, including the construction engineering technology training base, the accounting and financial training base and the logistics technology operation training base, are the provincial financial support training bases. At present, the college has 621 staff and more than 9000 students. The college takes high-quality senior skilled talents as the training goal, and has trained a large number of qualified talents for the society, with graduates all over the country. In recent years, the annual initial employment rate of our graduates has been maintained at more than 95%.

The college attaches great importance to specialty construction and curriculum construction, and has eight departments (departments) including the College of Finance and economics, the College of architectural engineering, the Department of computer science, the Department of tourism, the Department of art, the Department of management, the teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory, the Department of basic courses, and the Institute of higher vocational education. At present, 41 specialties are set up, of which 5 are tourism arts and crafts design and production, computer application technology, pre-school education, tourism English and accounting computerization, and 3 are excellent provincial education reform pilot specialties. Accounting computerization, computer application technology, tourism management, preschool education and construction engineering technology are provincial key majors. There are 2 provincial excellent courses and 3 excellent and excellent teaching materials at or above the provincial level.

The college attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff, formulates a feasible plan for the construction of teaching staff, adopts the method of "sending out and inviting in" to strengthen the construction of teaching staff, and has formed a high-quality teaching staff with reasonable structure and full-time and part-time combination, with provincial famous teachers and visiting professors as professional leaders and master as the main body. At present, there are 5 provincial famous teachers and moral pacesetters, and 1 provincial college teaching team. In recent years, our teachers and researchers have published more than 1000 academic papers, and published more than 100 monographs, chief editors and participating textbooks. It has undertaken 11 national planning projects and provincial research projects, 3 educational and scientific research achievements above the provincial level, and 2 teaching and research achievements of provincial higher education.

The college focuses on inter school and international exchanges and cooperation. At present, there is one domestic counterpart cooperation college and three provincial counterpart support colleges. The college has established cooperative relations with educational institutions in Australia, Canada, Belgium, Spain, South Korea and other countries. China Australia and Australia China Vocational Education and training centers have been established respectively with Australia. As the implementation unit of the vocational training program in cooperation between the Chinese government and the Italian government, the Italian government sends all kinds of experts to our college to give lectures every year, and the college has also sent its staff to visit and exchange with each other, with 22 people studying.
