Baicheng Normal University is located in Baicheng City, known as Hexiang. It is the only undergraduate college in the west of Jilin Province. It was founded in 1958. In August 2000, Jilin provincial government decided to merge Baicheng forestry school into Baicheng normal college; in March 2002, it was upgraded to undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 1999, Siping Normal University and Siping Normal University jointly recruited undergraduates to start undergraduate education; in 2002, Siping Normal University independently recruited undergraduates; in 2007, Northeast Normal University and Siping Normal University jointly trained postgraduates to start postgraduate education.
