Baotou Medical College, founded in 1958, is an ordinary higher medical college established earlier in minority areas of new China. Since 1980, the University began to recruit master's degree students, and in 1985, it obtained the authorized qualification unit of master's degree. In 2008, he received the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education, and the result was excellent.

Baotou Medical College is located in Baotou, the world-famous rare earth capital, the first batch of national civilized cities and the beautiful grassland steel city. It covers an area of more than 1000 mu and a construction area of 180000 square meters. It has a main teaching building of 25000 square meters, an experimental building of 40000 square meters, a library of more than 20000 square meters and a collection of more than 700000 books. Nephrology is a national key clinical specialty.
