Mudanjiang Normal University, founded in 1958, has gone through four stages of development: Nenjiang branch of Northeast Agricultural University, Bei'an normal college, Ning'an normal college and Mudanjiang Normal College. It is one of the first batch of normal universities authorized by the State Council to confer bachelor's degree. It is an ordinary university in Heilongjiang Province.
