Yunnan Police Academy

Yunnan Police Academy was founded in 1950. It is the only undergraduate college of public security in western provinces of China, which has experienced the historical periods of Yunnan Public Security School, Yunnan People's police school and Yunnan Public Security College. The college is a full-time public undergraduate college jointly built by Yunnan Provincial Department of education and Yunnan Provincial Department of public security and mainly managed by the Department of public security. The college covers an area of 570 Mu and has 429 teaching staff. Among them, 261 are full-time teachers, 119 are associate professors and above, and 81 are masters and doctors. There are more than 7000 full-time college students. There are teaching and research institutions such as drug control department, investigation department, public security management department, criminal science and Technology Department, law department, computer science and Technology Department, Marxism Leninism and social science teaching and research department, basic curriculum teaching and research department, police sports teaching and research department, police actual combat training department, criminal science and Technology Research Institute (Yunnan Key Laboratory of criminal science and technology, Drug Control Research Institute), etc. At present, there are seven undergraduate majors in drug control, public security, investigation, law, criminal science and technology, computer science and technology, border control management, and eleven specialty majors in drug control, criminal investigation, economic case investigation, public security management, traffic management, material evidence inspection, information network security supervision, computer and application, computer and information management, English, security and so on And set up special police classes. At the same time, it also undertakes the training tasks for the on-the-job police of the whole province, some public security police services of the whole country and the anti drug law enforcement police of some Southeast Asian countries. Since its establishment for more than 50 years, the college has trained and transported more than 60000 specialized talents for all levels of public security departments of politics and law in the province, and has made positive contributions to improving the overall quality of the provincial political and law team and the comprehensive quality of the public security team. In the new historical development period, the college will take the goal of "developing the characteristics of Public Security Colleges and universities in the whole country, developing the characteristics of Yunnan Police Academy in public security colleges and universities in the whole country, cultivating high-quality and excellent reserve police officers, and serving the economic construction of Yunnan Province" as its goal, comprehensively guide and promote the overall work of the college, and serve the public security work and the construction of the public security team. The North Campus of Yunnan Police Officer College is a newly built campus invested 65 million yuan by Yunnan Police Officer College, with elegant environment, surrounded by mountains and verdant trees. It is adjacent to the 2nd Ring North Road and Longquan Road of Kunming City, with convenient transportation. The school covers an area of 167 mu, mainly accommodating non public security major college students and adult college students. It was put into use in September 2001, It has 10100 square meters of apartment type student dormitory buildings, 7400 square meters of modern teaching buildings, and more than 3000 square meters of comprehensive office buildings, student activity rooms and canteens. It has a full computer teaching, management and service system, and has the largest high-speed broadband campus network in China. It is equipped with more than 1800 computers, and has formed 34 full computer teaching centers Each student has a computer in the classroom and each apartment has a computer. Our school also has a standard police training range, shooting range, car training range. The whole school adopts apartment accommodation, fully computerized teaching and fully closed policing management. There are more than 2000 students in the campus, including security, computer science and technology, English majors, adult majors such as law, computerized accounting, foreign secretary, computer application, law, economic security, public security secretary, and secondary school majors such as legal affairs. The campus is mainly for the enrollment and training of non public security majors and adults. The management department of the north campus is responsible for the management of teaching and students.
