Guangdong Maoming kindergarten teachers college is a higher normal college sponsored by Maoming Municipal People's government and the first batch of kindergarten teachers colleges in Guangdong Province.

Gaozhou Normal University, formerly known as Guangdong University of petrochemical technology, was founded in 1930 as a rural normal school in Maoming county. In 1949, it merged with Gaozhou women's normal school in Guangdong Province to form Gaozhou normal school in Guangdong Province. In 1980, it was renamed as Gaozhou normal school with the approval of the Provincial People's government. In 1993, it launched a "three two section" junior college class, which is one of 36 pilot schools in China; In 2001, it was merged into Maoming University as a secondary college and renamed as Gaozhou Normal College of Maoming University; in 2010, it was renamed as Gaozhou Normal College of Guangdong petrochemical University.
