Shanxi Yuncheng Agricultural Vocational and technical college is a public agricultural college approved by the people's Government of Shanxi Province and registered by the Ministry of education. The college is under the leadership of Shanxi Provincial People's government and under the management of Yuncheng Municipal People's government.

The college is located in the center of Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, covering an area of 1013 mu, including 53 mu of the school headquarters and 960 mu of the first practice farm. The building area of the college is 61944.03m2, including 5050m2 teaching building, 3348.5m2 experimental building, 1059m2 library, 1300m2 training building, 3046m2 auditorium and restaurant, and 6652m2 student apartment.

The college has 143 teachers, 128 full-time teachers and 15 external, re employed and part-time teachers. Among them, there are 38 associate professors, 41 lecturers, 1 doctor and 31 master. In recent years, our teachers have presided over 19 scientific research projects, published more than 150 scientific research papers, and compiled more than 20 teaching materials and works.

The college has 2182 students. Shanxi Province is the main source of students, and has successively enrolled students in eight surrounding provinces. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates is more than 90%, ranking the first among the similar agricultural universities in the province.

At present, the college has three departments and one department: agriculture, forestry and Engineering Department, economic and trade management department, information technology department and basic teaching department. There are 11 specialties: Horticulture Technology, garden technology, food nutrition and detection, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, agricultural economic management, accounting computerization, computer application technology, marketing, applied English, computer hardware and peripherals, multimedia design and production, etc. Among them, horticultural technology and agricultural economic management major is the provincial teaching reform pilot major.

The college has 34 on campus training rooms and bases with high standard and high degree of modernization, and 21 off campus training bases. The total value of teaching equipment is 9.590981 million yuan. The college has 476 teaching computers, 482 seats in voice room and multimedia classroom. The library has a collection of 150955 books, an electronic reading room and a campus network. The college also has a standardized track and field playground, wind and rain playground, and various sports facilities to meet the needs of physical education teaching and teachers and students' exercise.

The college has a 1000 mu practice farm, which is distributed in Virus-free Red Fuji Apple demonstration garden, 40 mu persimmon specimen garden, 30 mu horticultural experimental field, and greenhouse nectarine, greenhouse vegetables, greenhouse grapes, greenhouse flowers, etc. for scientific experiments of teachers and students. The practice farm has the advantages of reasonable layout, complete varieties, supporting facilities, whole field pipe irrigation network, strong demonstration effect, large radiation area, and good teaching effect and social benefit. Since 1995, the provincial agricultural science and education on-the-spot meeting, the provincial forestry on-the-spot meeting and the provincial agricultural and animal husbandry school on-the-spot meeting have been held successively in the practice farm.
